***New Height Restriction Barriers at Sprowston Recreation Ground***. From 3.00pm Friday 12th June, a 2.1m height restriction will come into effect at both vehicle entrances to Sprowston Recreation Ground. This is to prevent unauthorised encampments in the carpark areas. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause legitimate visitors.

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO11164) affecting C256 Blue Boar Lane from its junction with A1151 Wroxham Road Roundabout for 96 metres southwards (southbound carriageway only) (“Road A”) and C256 Blue Boar Lane from its junction with A1151 Wroxham Road Roundabout for 96 metres southwards (“Road B”) in the Town of Sprowston to facilitate HV electricity supply installation works, the Road A will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and the Road B shall be temporarily subject to the imposition of a one-way system (northbound) and the effect of this is that vehicles will only be allowed to travel in a north direction for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 15th to 27th June 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 8th August 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: C256 Blue Boar Lane, C283 Salhouse Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, A1151 Wroxham Road (Rackheath, Sprowston).

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Leep Electricity Networks Ltd.

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Roads A and B where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works/when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 8th August 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

Due to maintenance work at Sprowston Recreation Ground, the Edwards Road car park will be temporarily closed to vehicles this morning. Estimated reopening time is 12.00 Midday. Pedestrian access is unaffected. The Recreation Ground Road car park will be temporarily closed to vehicles this afternoon, from approximately 12.00 midday to 3.00pm. During that time, pedestrian access will still be possible via the gate next to the library. One of the car parks will always be open when the other car park is closed. All other facilities at the Rec’ remain open. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO11148) affecting the A1151 Wroxham Road from its junction with Blenheim Road to its junction with Blue Boar Lane (the “Road”) in the Town of Sprowston to facilitate surface dressing of the carriageway works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from between 19:00 and 23:00 from 18th to 20th May 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 1st July 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

NB: Works are anticipated to take place between 19:00 and 23:00 on 18th May 2026, with 19th and 20th May as contingency dates if required.

Alternative route is via: A1151 Wroxham Road, A1042 Mousehold Lane/ Heartsease Lane/ St Williams Way/ Saint Williams Way/ Ring Road/ Pound Lane/ Yarmouth Road, A1194 Broadland Way/ Poppy Way, A1270 Broadland Northway, A1151 Wroxham Road (Rackheath, Thorpe St. Andrew, Postwick with Witton, Great and Little Plumstead, Sprowston).
