Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library

Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library Norfolk's flagship library, based in Norwich UK. Books, events, PCs and Wi-Fi, printing facilities, study spaces - and more. Managed by Norfolk County Council.

Home to Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk. You all know you can borrow books from a library. But did you know that you can also borrow ebooks, audio books (both on CD and for your ipod/phone/tablet), DVDs and music CDs? Not only that but we have FREE internet - both via wifi and our own computer terminals! What's that, there's more? Yep! We also have two wonderful children's libraries (one

for 0-7s and one for 8-12s) and a dedicated teen section too. There's ALSO a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction on the 1st floor and the stupendous Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk on the 2nd floor. Incredible! Just a reminder that Pokémon Club is back at the Millennium Library TOMORROW (Saturday 5 September)!

Following a couple of trial sessions, the Millennium Library will now be running a regular club for Pokémon enthusiasts. Aimed at ages 8-16 (but younger children welcome with grown ups), come along and chat all things Pokémon. Swap cards, debate who's the best Pokémon (Charmander FYI) - and much more.

Free and drop-in, all sessions are 2-3pm in the Connect Space (on the right as you walk in the ground floor).

Next session is Saturday 5 September - sessions after that are on Saturdays 3 October, 14 November, 12 December.

The Millennium Library are delighted to announce a brand new 'Just a Cuppa' session, just for parents and carers!

If you're a parent, grandparent or carer of a pre-schooler, why not join the Millennium Library for a tea and a chat. You'll meet others with children a similar age, partner organisations will be on hand to chat to and - most importantly - free hot drinks. It's a chance for you to have a bit of a break and a catch up, in a safe, welcoming space.

The first session is Wednesday 23 September, 11am-12pm. It's free, drop-in and will take place in the Connect Space of the Millennium Library (on the left as you walk in the ground floor).

Further sessions are on Wednesdays 21 October, 25 November and 16 December, same time and place!

The boat is back in the Early Years Library at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, and it has a name!

When we reopened after our extensive refurbishment, we put our brand new boat into the Early Years Library. However it actually needed a new top adding, so while we had it for opening day we sent it off to be finished. And now it’s back!

On opening day BBC Radio Norfolk asked their listeners what the boat could be called, and one person (we think they were called Steve? We’ll go with Steve) suggested…Read ‘em Ferry! Which we thought was extremely clever. Because Reedham Ferry. Read ‘em. Reedham. It’s clever wordplay and we’re here for it.

So, ‘Read ‘em Ferry’ is back and ready to set sail next time you come and visit us at the Millennium Library 🫡

August’s Poetry Just a Cuppa is coming back home to the BIPC Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor after the last few months of refurbishment! Join us this Wednesday 26th August 2-3.30pm to discuss poetry we’ve found and written on the theme ‘New Beginnings’.

Tuck into some tea and biscuits while we share poems and get feedback on our own poetry from a friendly group of creatives. You’re also more than welcome to simply sit back and listen to others read and discover some new poets!
