Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library

Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library Norfolk's flagship library, based in Norwich UK. Books, events, PCs and Wi-Fi, printing facilities, study spaces - and more. Managed by Norfolk County Council.

Home to Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk. You all know you can borrow books from a library. But did you know that you can also borrow ebooks, audio books (both on CD and for your ipod/phone/tablet), DVDs and music CDs? Not only that but we have FREE internet - both via wifi and our own computer terminals! What's that, there's more? Yep! We also have two wonderful children's libraries (one

for 0-7s and one for 8-12s) and a dedicated teen section too. There's ALSO a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction on the 1st floor and the stupendous Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk on the 2nd floor. Incredible! Join us for our regular ‘Poetry Just a cuppa’ social event which we’ve managed to squeeze into our events programme this month (albeit a week earlier than usual!), on Thursday the 21st May 2.30-4pm in The Gallery, the Forum.

This time the theme is 'Water', so grab your Nature collections (or something more abstract, it’s however you choose to interpret it!) and bring along your favourite poem to discuss with our friendly group. Or if you’re feeling inspired, feel free to conjure up your own poem using water as a prompt to share in a supportive environment!

Come along to meet new people, discover new poets and maybe even create your own poem over a cuppa. No need to book, just drop in. We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

While the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library is closed for refurbishment, we'll be hosting lots of events in The Forum, Norwich's Gallery space - including our ever-popular singing sessions for adults!

On Monday 8 May and Friday 15 May (both 11:30am-1:30pm) we welcome the Aphasia Choir to the Gallery. Aphasia Choir is for people who have difficulty with their language or speech following a stroke. Lead by a UEA speech and language tutor. Includes singing and speech exercises and a break for refreshments.

On Tuesday 19 May (11:30am-12:30pm) we have 'Come Singing'. A dementia-friendly session, Come Singing includes all kinds of great songs; favourites from the musicals, standards, folk and traditional, plus therapeutic musical activities to stimulate the brain.

All sessions are free and drop-in, family and friends also welcome. Find the Gallery on the left of The Forum as you walk in. For info on other Millennium Library events, head to: https://tinyurl.com/4v2a6spa

Here’s a sneak peek at the space we will be using for a pop-up library during the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library refurbishment!

On Tuesday 5 May we will be taking over the old Adam From Home location. There will be a selection of stock for both adults and children, plus we will have your reservations available for collection.

We are busy packing up our stock and getting everything ready - but we look forward to welcoming you to our pop-up library soon.

The Millennium Library is now closed until mid-July. Please note this only affects the library - we are tenants in The Forum so they and their other tenants are still open!

The Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library is now temporarily closed until mid-July for an exciting refurbishment! Please note this is JUST the library, not The Forum, Norwich. The Forum, alongside Pizza Express, Marzano, On the Stall City etc will be open as usual.

During the closure we will be running a whole host of library events in The Gallery in The Forum. Head to www.norfolk.gov.uk/libraryonline for event info. What's more, from Tuesday 5 May we will be hosting a pop-up library in The Forum too! We will have a selection of Millennium Library stock for adults and children, and reservations from other Norfolk libraries will be available to pick up. Most stock from the Millennium Library will however be put into storage during the refurb.

We will keep you up to date on the refurb here and on the Millennium Library page - thank you for your patience while we give the Millennium Library a much-needed make over!

We’re very excited about our upcoming refurb - while the Millennium Library will be closed The Forum itself is very much open! So you can still get your pizzas, coffee, football shirts etc. Plus we will have a pop-up library so you can still get books - just not as many 😅

REMINDER: The Forum is OPEN during the Millennium Library refurbishment

Our tenant, Norfolk County Council, will be carrying out a major improvement project to the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library.

This means that the Millennium Library will be closed from Monday 27 April until mid-July, but the rest of The Forum will be open. Our car park, events, PizzaExpress, Cafe Bar Marzano, On the Stall City will all be operating as usual - hooray!

For more information about library services and events, please follow the Norfolk Library and Information Service for updates. Thank you for your patience!
