Last month, we were delighted to welcome colleagues from YMCA Germany (CVJM Deutschland) to the YMCA Community & Activity Village in Newark as part of their visit to the UK.🇩🇪

During their time with us, we shared a tour of the Village and showcased the facilities, programmes and partnerships that help make our vision a reality.

It was a great opportunity to highlight our commitment to creating positive opportunities for young people and the wider community.

The Village is more than just a building – it’s a space where people can connect, grow and thrive, helping to build confidence, aspiration and opportunity across our community.

A huge thank you to the team for visiting, sharing ideas and strengthening the bonds within our global YMCA movement. Together, we remain committed to helping young people belong, contribute and reach their full potential.

What a fantastic week we’ve had so far at Wollaton Holiday Club! 🌿🐞

Our young explorers have been busy getting creative and adventurous in the warm weather - from making clay mini beasts and nature bugs, to painting beautiful beehives 🎨🐝 The boys even worked together to build their own campfire! 🪵

💚 This Mental Health Awareness Week, colleagues from our Adult Transit Team and 16+ Services came together for a reflective wellbeing session focused on connection, understanding, and support.

Wearing green to show solidarity, the team planted sunflower seeds 🌻 - symbols of growth, hope, and wellbeing - which will later be replanted in the grounds of Commercial Gate as a lasting reminder of the importance of mental health in the workplace and beyond.

As part of the session, team members anonymously shared one thing they wish people better understood about mental health and wellbeing at work. Reading these aloud sparked honest, thoughtful conversations about how we can better support one another every day.

They also explored our Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit, strengthening their understanding of how to have meaningful conversations around mental health with the young people and residents we work alongside.

A powerful session that reinforced the importance of creating safe, supportive and understanding workplaces across all of our services.
