We're working with Newark Creates to bring you lots of exciting events in Newark this June! 🤩
This Monday, head down to Inspire Newark Library and Buttermarket to take part in two fantastic FREE family workshops led by local artists 🖌️
Drop-in from 10:30am - 12:30pm for a Recycled Puppets Workshop with Michelle Reader Artist
Drop-in from 2:00pm - 5:00pm for a Creative Words Workshop with Leanne Moden - Poet
Michelle Reader is the founder of Wayward Objects , a puppet theatre company growing out of nearly thirty years of making sculpture and community art from found and recycled materials.
In this workshop - Tales from the Wheelbarrow - children and families will delve into the world of Michelle's characters, and you'll get the chance to invent your own stories and characters from recycled materials. ♻️
Leanne Moden is a local poet and storyteller, and she's currently the artist in residence at the National Civil War Centre - Newark Museum !
Come along to Leanne's workshop for wordy activities like making poems and stories from collage materials, writing ransom note poetry, and using your best drawing skills to create new stories from old ones too ✍️
If you can't make it to these events on Monday, why not come along to the National Civil War Centre at Tudor Hall for the FREE performance of the Tales from the Wheelbarrow puppet show on Thursday 4 June at 12pm?!
