Notts LGBT+ Network

Notts LGBT+ Network Proudly offering information and support since 1975. We connect and represent the LGBT+ community in Notts to feel empowered everyday.

Notts LGBT+ Network is a registered charity run entirely by unpaid volunteers

Based in central Nottingham, we have been offering support and advice to the county’s LGBT+ community, their friends and family, as well as local organisations and businesses, since 1975

Our network creates a safe space for people looking for information, advice and help relating to LGBT+ issues, including sexuality,

gender identity, sexual health and emotional well-being. We primarily work with over 18’s but we are able to signpost to organisations who work with under 18’s

Soft Launch Social is hosting a Pride Special speed friending event for LGBTQ+ people and allies aged 21–35 at Bustler Nottingham on Wednesday 22 July, 6:30pm–8:30pm 🌈

The event is designed to help people make new friends in the LGBTQ+ community in a relaxed, welcoming and low-pressure environment especially for people who may want to attend Nottingham Pride but don’t currently have people to go with.

The evening includes guided speed friending rounds, conversation prompts, breaks throughout the event and an anxiety friendly atmosphere designed to make meeting new people feel less intimidating. Most attendees come alone!

After 3 sold out Nottingham events, Soft Launch Social is excited to host its first LGBTQ+ exclusive event after lots of requests from the community.

All profits from the event will be donated to Notts LGBT+ Network to support the work they do for LGBTQ+ people across Nottinghamshire 🤍

Do you remember gay life before Grindr? We want to hear your story. 🏳️‍🌈 - Romp Podcast records stories of meeting and dating gay men in a time before an app did it all for you.

If you've got tale to tell of closets, cruising or cottaging then Murry wants to talk to you. See www.rompcast.com for more info and links to the podcasts. Recording is done remotely, there's no experience needed, and guests can stay anonymous if they prefer.

The podcast is at rompcast.com and on Spotify, Apple and Amazon. There's an overview of every episode on the site if you want to get a feel for what it's like.

We'd like to take a moment to remind you of the Rainbow Lottery! 🌈 They - and you - have been supporting the Network since 2021!

The Rainbow Lottery is the UK's first and only lottery supporting LGBTQ+ good causes. It is a weekly lottery that raises money for the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ good causes totally, openly and exclusively.

The Notts LGBT+ Network is one of those good causes! If you choose to sponsor us when purchasing your tickets, 50% of your ticket price will go directly to the Network, allowing us to keep doing what we're doing! 🎉

As well as supporting the LGBTQ+ community each week, you could win the jackpot of £25,000 or one of the other prizes: £2,000, £250, £25 or three free tickets! You can sign up by going to their website, or by scanning the QR code on the image! The QR code will take you straight to our page, though you can also find us by searching Notts LGBT+ Network on the good cause list.

Or, you can find our page here: https://www.rainbowlottery.co.uk/support/notts-lgbt-network

Please note that players must be 18 or over and physically located in Great Britain. Additionally, we would like to stress that you should always play responsibly. And if you need to talk to someone about your gambling please contact Gamble Aware for support.

On Saturday, we attended the book launch event of CJ DeBarra's Q***r Nottingham Vol.2 at Nottingham Central Library. We are very grateful to CJ for kindly donating part of the proceeds to NottsLGBT+ Network. It was lovely to take part and set up a stall along with other local charities supporting the launch. Quirky presentations and speeches kept the community engaged. Good laughs, lively music and great atmosphere all around.

Once again, heartfelt gratitude to CJ and the community for supporting us 🌈🙏🏽💕 Notts Q***r History Project Caroline Barry Nottingham Central Library

We’ve seen so many powerful and hard-hitting statements over the last few days challenging the new EHRC Guidance. We’ll be sharing some of these statements on our story over the coming days to amplify them.

Rather than adding another statement of our own, we wanted to take a moment to share the voices and feelings of our volunteers through a series of personal quotes that reflect how many of us in the LGBT+ community are feeling right now.

These quotes come from trans and non-binary people, as well as allies within our community.

At a time like this, it’s important to remember that there are so many people standing in solidarity, speaking up, and working towards a more compassionate and inclusive future.

It is also critical to remember that this guidance isn’t just a piece of paper, it has real consequences for individuals.

And we can still change it. Write to your MP’s letting them know how you feel - they have 40 days to challenge the guidance. We will also continue to share statements as they come out. And as always, our helpline is open from 7pm-9pm weekdays.

Happy Pansexual Visibility Day 🩷💛🩵

To everyone in the pan community: you're seen, you're valid, and you belong. Your visibility helps others understand that attraction isn't limited by gender—it's about connection, pure and simple.

Thank you for living authentically. 🌈
