The Nottingham African Consortium is a charitable organisation whose main objective is to provide a collective voice for the African migrants living in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The NAC has a mandate of strengthening the partnerships between African Migrant service providers to facilitate improved co-ordination of activities, to help developing working relationships with other concerned organisations to provide an effective forum from advocacy and action.

Dr. Siddig Omer is the Chair of NAC. He is an academic at the University of Nottingham, specialising in renawable and sustainable energy technologies. He is also a community leader and volunteer, he has cofounded Nottingham New Communities in Social Entreprise, Nottingham Sudanese Society and One Africa Partnership. He has over 17 years experience in the voluntary sector.

His reasons for getting involved with NAC: 'I would like to support the official recognition of African Communities needs by creating a space for sharing and communicating with others, developing awareness of rights, obligations and good citizenship, and raising concerns and make our voice heard by planners and decision makers.'
