Nuneaton South SNT would like to thank all of the lovely ladies and divine doggos who joined us on our Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) walk this evening in the Pingles/Riversley/Chilvers Coton area. It's always great to meet our residents and hear their views and concerns about the areas they live in.

Local topics were discussed and personal safety alarms were handed out to those who wanted them - and dog-walker torches to the owners of our furrier friends. 🐶🐾

VAWG and Walk With Us walks take place in all of our Nuneaton SNT areas - we promote them via this FB page, with posters in local shops and community venues, and via Warwickshire Connected. Keep checking in for details of the next one if you'd like to come along.

Our VAWG walks are open to all women and girls who live and work in Warwickshire - under 14's need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian - and bad weather will never stop us!
Thank you 👣🐾😁

Calling all parents of Nuneaton and Bedworth! 🚸

I'm sure some of you are relieved that the new school year is finally here!

Whilst the school run becomes part of the daily routine again, residents living near schools may also be bracing themselves for the return of the parking problems that can come with it.

Please take a moment to read through the poster below and remember to park considerately and safely around our schools.

A few extra minutes walking can make a big difference to the safety of children and the quality of life for local residents.

Thank you,

A man who forced another man living in his shed to work at his scrapyard has been jailed for modern slavery offences.

Full release is on our website – link in the comments.

James Dean Harrison, 51 from Coventry, has been jailed for six and a half years and ordered to pay £10,000 compensation after pleading guilty to requiring a person to perform forced labour.

The victim, who was living in Harrison’s shed, was made to do manual labour work in a scrapyard. Harrison is alleged to have referred to him as “Scrapyard Dog”, and to have regularly subjected him to both physical and verbal abuse.

Harrison also kept the victim’s bank cards, taking for himself £63,625.44 over three years which is believed to have been used to pay for holidays.

We began our investigation when the local councillor raised their concerns with us after meeting with the victim and his partner and facilitating emergency accommodation for them both.

We arrested Harrison on 25 February 2026.

Investigating officer DC Hutt of the Trafficking and Exploitation Team said “The treatment that James Dean Harrison subjected the victim to – stripping him of his dignity, his finances, and seriously impacting his health – was appalling in every way.

“He had approached Harrison as a friend in need of help, and Harrison chose to exploit him for labour and to defraud him of his money.

“We might never have heard about this had it not been for the local community and their councillor – we thank them for calling this to our attention, and allowing us to work to put Harrison in prison for his actions.”

This afternoon PCSO 6229 & 8893 have attended pit bulls MMA to see the group of terriers in action. They have had a talk on being safe and what to do if they need help, they have also had a tour around the police car putting the lights & sirens on which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you for having us!

Following reports of ASB and nuisance behaviour in the area, Nuneaton South SNT Officers have been conducting high visibility foot patrols around the car parks and wooded green spaces in the area. Unfortunately we did come across a burnt and still smouldering log in Wembrook Woods, which we made safe before we left the area. Thank you to the young people who came along while we were there and helped with getting water from the stream to completely deaden the embers.

We also came across a very cute wandering pup at Pauls Land...his owner wasn't far behind so we just enjoyed a quick smooch while we had the chance!
