So Attleborough Village gets forgotten again by the Tory/Reform Council

Here at Nuneaton Labour we are all in favour of equality and fairness. Unfortunately your Tory/Reform run council are incapable of thinking like that.

Reform intend to split the Labour Government allocated £1.5million ‘Pride in Place’ funding based on inequality to residents: -
£7 per person in Nuneaton
£21 per person in Bedworth
£13 per person in Bulkington
£21 per person in Keresley

Councillor Nicky King, the deputy leader of the Labour Group, has called out this Tory/Reform failing to the residents of Nuneaton, branding it 'unfair and not in proportion' and will continue to press for changes.

Only Labour stick up for Nuneaton residents. 🌹

SCRUTINY DENIED

At a recent Communities, Corporate Resources, and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Panel (OSP) chaired by Tory Cllr Damon Brown, a scrutiny suggestion form was denied. This is no surprise given that at the last Full Council meeting, Reform voted to give all the Committee Chair roles to the Conservatives. It is clear that they are happy to deny people the chance to scrutinise the Reform controlled Borough Council.

This denial of scrutiny follows on from the Reform UK decision to scrap one of the Scrutiny Panels last month, again with the full support of the Conservatives.

To add insult to injury, the recording equipment at the Town Hall is no longer working, so video footage of these meetings cannot be uploaded later for the public to see.

This scrutiny form was put in because the Labour Group knows how important it is for residents to have repairs done on their properties, and the fact that there are over 4000 repairs outstanding shows that the system that this Council is using is broken and is in need of repair itself. The computer system is outdated, needs replacing, and the whole repairs booking in system needs scrutinising, which is why this form was submitted.

Cllr Kris Wilson promised to hold this Reform Council to account. So far the Tories have done the opposite
