The Lodge Trust CIO

The Lodge Trust CIO Providing individual support for adults with learning disabilities in Christian homes and working environments. What do we do provide?

A Home - a loving Christian environment where each resident has a place they can call home. We have a wonderful 20 acre site, with a variety of accommodation that caters for all individual needs. Work – All residents have the opportunity to participate in work, where they can express themselves – work comes in lots of different
types, for example woodwork, crafts, horticulture, customer service a

nd product merchandising in the café. Work opportunities are open to both residents and those who live in the surrounding towns and villages. Education – We offer training and experience accredited through ASDAN. We teach a variety of short and long courses each adapted to the individuals learning level and style. Christian Support – One of the main reasons people come to The Lodge Trust is to live in a Christian environment, where their choice of living a Christian life is respected and encouraged. That’s why we have a morning Bible reading and prayer time, attend local churches to worship God with other Christians, and enjoy one to one and group
Bible studies. Recreation – this comes in lots of different forms: swimming, horse riding, snooker, sailing and cycling. The gardens and extensive driveways leave plenty of space for residents and visitors to ride bicycles safely and enjoy the countryside without fear or danger. Also – we have a Country Park - including a café, log cabins and two caravan sites. All this provides real work opportunities for the residents and lots of recreation space.

🪵 Pallets wanted! 🪵

We’re looking for donations of clean, unwanted wooden pallets from locals, businesses, or anyone who may have some going spare.

Your pallets will be put to good use in our kindling operation, helping our residents get involved in practical, purposeful activities — and keeping our supplies of kindling topped up! 🔥

If you or your business has any pallets you could donate, we’d be really grateful. Every donation makes a difference.

📍 Local to us? Please get in touch with us directly to arrange dropping them off or collection where possible.

This weekend, one of our residents celebrated a birthday!

Happy Birthday, Chayne! 🎂🎉 From all of us at the Lodge, we hope you had a fantastic day! 🥳

Karen, one of our wonderful support workers, took Chayne and a few other residents out for a lovely birthday lunch. And Chayne was looking very smart in his bright shirt and fancy tie! 👔✨

We hope you had a brilliant day, Chayne — you certainly looked the part!

A few of our residents were lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful day at the Rutland Flower Show in Oakham! 🌺
Despite the hot weather, everyone had a lovely time wandering around and admiring all the beautiful flowers and plants. ☀️🌷
There was plenty more to see too, including a grand marquee filled with handmade gifts, delicious fine foods to buy, and some stunning show gardens. 🌿
All in all, it was a fantastic summer day out, enjoying the beautiful gardens and soaking up the atmosphere! 💐

Alison and our fantastic garden team have been working on our developing sensory garden - and the result is beautiful! 🌱

With differently shaped wooden archways, calming colours, and blossoming plants, our sensory garden is well on its way to becoming one of the most peaceful places here at the Lodge.

🌞🌑 What a wonderful time we had enjoying last week’s solar eclipse!
Residents and staff alike had a fantastic time watching this special event. A big thank you to our wonderful staff member, Emma, who worked hard to make pinhole boxes so our residents could safely enjoy a glimpse of the eclipse. 🔭✨
We even managed to capture some pictures of the eclipse itself, making the moment even more special! 📸
It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, sharing the excitement and creating such a memorable experience together.

Our monthly walking group, led by JoJo, ventured out to the beautiful Bradgate Park for a lovely day of fresh air, stunning scenery and plenty of wildlife! 🌿🚶‍♀️

The group enjoyed taking in the beautiful surroundings and exploring the park, although the ferns had grown so tall in places that they were almost as high as some of our residents! They were also lucky enough to spot some of the park’s famous deer along the way, which was a lovely highlight of the day. 🦌💕

A fantastic day out filled with nature, good company, fresh air and plenty of walking — creating lots of happy memories along the way! 🌳
