Breakfast in bed for little Hector. He's doing really well and getting stronger and more independent every day. Sadly Harriet, another small hoglet that came to us, was not as strong and despite all our efforts sadly passed away on Saturday. Nettle the big female hog, our first patient with the open wound and live maggots, has been released after her wound healed remarkably well. She went back out weighing a whopping 1.3kg. We have a new patient - Nick (named by a kind member of the public who gave us a generous donation) had been trapped for a few days and was very dehydrated, skinny and also has a parasite burden. He's progressing well, but will be with us for several weeks, at least until his claws grow back so he can dig for food successfully.
