We send our best wishes to our friends from the Turbulent Team and a speedy recovery to the pilot who sadly suffered serious injuries ❤️
We’re incredibly sad to hear that another serious accident has happened at a UK airshow today, this time during the Stow Maries Air Show in Essex.
An aircraft from the Turbulent Team was involved in an accident during the display. The team are a much-loved part of the British airshow scene, flying their tiny single-seat Druine D.31 Turbulents in a wonderfully traditional barnstorming routine featuring ultra-low-level flying, balloon bursting and flour bombing.
Stow Maries has confirmed that the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and has been taken to a London hospital, where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.
At this stage, there is very little confirmed information about exactly what happened, and we will not speculate on the circumstances or cause of the accident.
Coming less than 24 hours after the serious accident involving the DH.88 Comet Grosvenor House at Shuttleworth, it has been an incredibly difficult weekend for the UK airshow community.
For now, all that matters is the pilot. We sincerely hope for positive news and a full recovery. ❤️🩹
We will provide further information when it becomes available from reliable and official sources.
