Connect to Work - Work Placements

Thanks to the staff at Bella Italia for supporting our job seekers through valuable work experience placements.

Jordan had never worked in a kitchen environment before but has a real interest in learning how to cook and create meals.

Under the guidance of the head chef at Bella Italia, Jordan was able to learn about food safety, safe use of knives, teamwork and the planning and preparation that goes in to producing meals in a busy restaurant.

As well as increasing his knowledge and motivation to cook more at home, the placement has also broadened his work aspirations and Jordan is keen to find employment in a cafe or restaurant environmnet.

Sandwell Children's Trust Sandwell Children’s Trust is looking for a Prevention Worker to join its Horizons Team, supporting children and young people who may be at risk of becoming involved in the youth justice system.

You’ll support young people following arrest or school exclusions, identify concerns early, work with families and partner agencies, and deliver outcome-focused support to help prevent further offending.

If you have at least two years’ experience working with children, young people or families, hold an NVQ Level 3 or above, and have experience managing a caseload and working as part of a multi-agency team, this could be a great opportunity for you.
