END OF AN ERA!!!!!

Last night we said farewell as Sqn Ldr Mark Hamilton who handed over the command of 1855 Royton Sqn to Plt Off Ian Bajorski.

Sqn Ldr Hamilton is retiring after a long distinguished service to the organisation; being Sqn OC, TWICE, and also holding various roles at Wing and Corps level.

The staff and cadets of the unit thank Sqn Ldr Hamilton for all he has done. The success of the sqn is due to your dedication and experience.

Alas, we won't be getting rid of him that easily! He will be returning as a Civilian Instructor in the coming months.

We wish Plt Off Bajorski the best of luck in his new role with the staff team behind him.

Well done to 1855 cadets who participated in the Greater Manchester Wing 5 a side football. Two teams of under 14’s and under 16’s represented the squadron. Team Royton, you did us proud!

Congratulations to our recruit flight who passed out last night and are now first class cadets. Along with the first class training, cadets have also completed their St. John’s essential first aid badge and blue leadership and will co tinie to work through the blue progressive training syllabus we look forward to see you all flourish within the organisation.

Congratulations to corporal Sanders who leaves us tonight to join the Royal Air Force as a trainee mechanic. We have had a fun night tonight and we wish his all the best with his career.

We now have a fully working archery range for the cadets to use on parade nights. This is a new skill out cadets can develop and enjoy.

A big Well done to the 9 cadets who completed their Bronze DofE assessed expedition. The weather wasn’t the best, but they pushed through the rain, wind and shine and made it to the end.
