🍏🍞 COMMUNITY FRIDGE UPDATE πŸ₯–πŸ₯•

What a year for this terrific community initiative! Olney Community Fridge recorded some incredible figures when the data for 2025 was finally collated, with more than 15 tonnes of food produce passing through the little blue shed at the rear of The Olney Centre! 😳

We are incredibly grateful to all those who have donated items that would have otherwise gone to waste, especially Coop and Sainsburys stores who make daily donations. πŸ‘

Most praise, however, must go to our group of a dozen volunteers, who give their time to collect, weigh in, and sort all of this food, all year round. πŸ‘

Please come down to the blue shed at the rear of The Olney Centre and help us to continue avoiding food from going to unnecessary waste. πŸ‘

πŸš“ QUICK RESPONSE πŸš’

Thanks to the emergency services who responded very quickly this afternoon, following the reported empty/abandoned kayak at the river.

Thankfully, emergency services don't believe there to be any concern regarding people in the river, but would like to receive any information about who the kayak belongs to, and when it was left in the river.

Please call on 101 if you have information which may be of use, quoting reference INC-20251010-1369
