With our resident SSM Paratrooper currently enjoying the delights of Cornwall, there were concerns about whether the monthly breakfast would survive...

Fear not. The show went on.

This month's operation was led by RLC Chef Sophia Hennessy , who not only understood the assignment but, true to military form, arrived with her own squadron in tow. Efficiency at its finest.

A fantastic turnout at the West Lancs Armed Forces Family Breakfast Morning. Where else can you get free tea, coffee, and a bacon, sausage and egg banjo so substantial that some members had to conduct tactical manoeuvres and cut it into four pieces before engaging?

As always, it was great to see so many familiar faces and have a catch-up with our armed forces community.

We won't be hosting a breakfast next month due to Armed Forces Day commitments, but we'll be back in July, bigger, better, and with enough banjos to challenge even the hungriest squaddie.

WEST LANCASHIRE VETERANS

This coming Saturday 30th May is West Lancs Armed Forces Family NAAFI Breakfast which takes place at Ormskirk Rugby Club 1000-1200

Free Bacon, Sausages, Eggs, Tean and Coffee for veterans, Armed Forces personnel and all families.

We continue to grow our veterans network throughout West Lancashire with 3 Breakfast clubs now fully established and proving popular.

This will be our last one until the end of July because the 3 veterans organisations in West Lancashire will all be busy on Saturday 27th June with Armed Forces day being held at Burscough Football Club (more details to follow).

I'm hoping our new West Lancs Armed Forces Champion Cllr John Gordon will be in attendance this Saturday so he can formally introduce himself. An invite has been sent.

This Sunday, our very own RLC Chef, Cpl Hennessy, will be taking to the field for her first game with Wigan St Patricks ARLFC Open Age Ladies— and we couldn’t be prouder to sponsor her journey.

Not only is she an outstanding chef, but also a dedicated mum who embodies the core values we stand for every single day: courage, determination, resilience, and teamwork.

From serving others to stepping onto the rugby field, she continues to show what can be achieved with commitment and heart.

Good luck on Sunday, Cpl Hennessy — we’ll be cheering you on and look forward to many more games to come! 🏉

VETERANS COMMUNITY

This coming Saturday 25th April it's the turn of West Lancs Armed Forces Family to host their monthly breakfast at Ormskirk Rugby Club 1000-1200

Free bacon, sausage and egg sarnies plus tea and coffee.

Numbers continue to grow month on month. So come along and enjoy some great old military banter.
