Join Our Leeds Festival Salvage Team
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are working with other local community organisations in building a team to salvage tents and other reusable items from Leeds Festival on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August. Every year, countless tents and camping gear are left behind at festivals, contributing to significant environmental waste. Our goal is to rescue these items and repurpose them for community use.
Volunteers Needed for a Day of Impact
We are calling on volunteers to join us for a day of salvaging and fun. Your efforts will directly contribute to reducing waste and supporting our future Library of Things in Otley. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to the entire day, your help will be invaluable.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Salvage Volunteers
Assist in collecting and sorting tents and other reusable items from the festival site. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to get involved and make a difference.
Transport Assistants (ideally with a van!)
Help in transporting the salvaged items back to drop-off points for cleaning, storage and distribution.
By volunteering at the Leeds Festival salvage event, you will not only help reduce environmental waste but also contribute to the stock of items for our Library of Things, making them available for community use.
How to Get Involved
If you are interested in volunteering for the Leeds Festival salvage event, please get in touch with us at [email protected]. Together, we can build a stronger, more sustainable community.
Join us in making a positive impact—one borrowed item and salvaged tent at a time!
