We are getting so excited here....there are just 2 WEEKS TO GO until the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge is launched! We are really busy putting the finishing touches to everything that we have got planned over the summer holidays and we will be sharing these with you soon!

Over the next few weeks we will be visiting local schools and are looking forward to telling the children all about this year's Summer Reading Challenge and what to expect here at Oundle library in the assemblies that we do.

Drop in to the library today to do some Father's Day crafts and activities. We are open until 2pm and have lots of fun things out for you so that you can make some lovely things for the important male role model in your lives for Father's Day tomorrow.

Its Justice June for and this month we are looking at all things all things just and unjust

Retributive Justice

“What is the appropriate penalty for their actions?”

Retributive justice is a legal and moral theory which states that wrongdoers deserve to be punished, and that the punishment should be proportional to the severity of the crime committed.

We have had a delivery of more new books to add to our School Readiness collection. They can be found next to the parenting collection in the children's library. Simply look out for the School Readiness sticker on the books.

Starting school is exciting and is a big step for both you and your child. These books have been specially selected to help children prepare for starting school.

The session is an opportunity for new parents to meet in a relaxed, friendly environment with lots of fun sensory toys out for your babies to play with.

At Storytime and Craft this morning we went football crazy to celebrate the World Cup and the fact that it is England's first match tonight!

We read 'Planet Football' by Michelle Robinson where football-obsessed Jackson found that he could kick a ball all the way into outer space! He ended up kicking every football on Earth up there and the World Cup had to be cancelled! He then embarked on a moon adventure to bring football home again to let the World Cup happen!

After the story we decorated our own football finger puppets with brand new kits and the children were given football pitches and goal posts to take home. We used large pom poms to play football on the library football pitch too!
