Meet Suzan, one of the first residents in Oxfordshire to choose ODS for a home solar PV and battery system. She wanted lower bills, a greener home and long‑term stability for her electric lifestyle.

Our team installed a 3.8 kWp solar PV system — eight panels paired with a 5 kWh battery — to power her fully electric home and car.

Suzan’s verdict? “I would definitely recommend Oxford Direct Services Trading Limited to anybody.” 💬

Her solar PV and battery setup now powers her home and car, cuts her energy bills and supports a more sustainable future for her family. And because the project was delivered entirely by our in‑house Property Services team, it also supports local jobs and skills here in Oxfordshire.

📍 Next steps announced for Oxford’s new Burial Meadow 🌳

Blakedown Landscapes has been appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver the new Oxford Burial Meadow, following planning approval being gained in April of this year.

With more than five decades of experience, Blakedown Landscapes is an award-winning landscaping and civil engineering specialist with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects across the UK, including nationally significant public landscapes and sensitive heritage and environmental sites.

Oxford Burial Meadow is a new 17-acre site off Oxford Road that will provide a sustainable and respectful burial space for the city’s growing needs. The site, currently used for farming, will be transformed into a peaceful new public meadow incorporating burial use.

The development will include new tree planting, wildflower meadows, paths and seating, creating a tranquil environment for visitors while also enhancing local biodiversity.

The Oxford Burial Meadow will be managed by ODS’s burial services team, and is expected to provide capacity for around 45 years of burials, helping address the city’s shortage of burial plots. The exact number of burial spaces will be subject to planning conditions.

Works are expected to start on site in autumn, and be complete in spring of next year.

Refurbishment complete at 302 Abingdon Road 🏢

We’ve recently finished a refurbishment at 302 Abingdon Road for Halfords, giving the building a fresh, modern look and improving its energy efficiency.

The project included removing the old render and installing a new insulated exterior system to reduce heat loss. We redecorated the remaining windows and doors to give the building a clean, consistent finish that enhances kerb appeal and supports efforts to attract new tenants to the vacant ground‑floor unit.

The first floor is home to the Oxford Dive Centre, a long‑standing local facility. The centre stayed fully open throughout the refurbishment, so we carefully planned works around their schedule to keep the space safe, accessible and welcoming for users 🏊‍♂️

Thank you to Carter Jonas for their support as contract administrators throughout the project, and to the Oxford Dive Centre for working closely throughout the project 🤝
