🤔 Have you ever wondered what happens after someone takes part in a research study?

Many people who participate in are unsure what happens once their ends.

To help address this, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Research & Development team has launched a co-produced leaflet called "What's Next After Taking Part in Research?".

The leaflet explains what participants can expect after a study finishes, where they may be able to find study results, and where to access further information and support.

Patients referred for same-day emergency care are benefiting from significant upgrades at Abingdon community hospital thanks to a £1.1 million refurbishment project funded by NHS England. A major milestone for dementia research has been reached, with the READ-OUT study welcoming its 1,000th participant.

Co-led by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust's Director of Research and Development, Professor Vanessa Raymont, the study is investigating whether blood-based biomarkers could help NHS memory clinics diagnose the diseases that cause dementia more quickly and accurately.

As the 1,000th participant in the READ-OUT study, Bob Crampton from Bath is helping researchers evaluate whether could transform how is diagnosed in NHS memory clinics.

With more than 3,000 participants planned nationwide, every volunteer is helping generate the evidence needed to bring innovative diagnostic tools closer to routine NHS care.

The Oxfordshire Local Area Partnership (LAP) has worked with parents, carers, education, health and social care partners to develop a new draft strategy for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Now we want to hear from you.

The strategy sets out a shared ambition for children and young people with SEND to be:
• Valued and included
• Supported early
• Able to thrive in their communities
• Prepared confidently for adulthood

Your feedback will help shape the final strategy and future SEND services across Oxfordshire.

🤳Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has launched ChatHealth – a 24/7 service offering immediate access to advice and support for people experiencing a range of mental health challenges.

The service provides a simple and discreet way for people to seek help with issues such as low mood, loneliness, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, anxiety, stress, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

How the service works

👉Text 07312 263 127 to start a conversation
👉A confirmation message is sent immediately
👉The team aims to respond within one hour
👉The service operates 24 hours a day, including weekends and bank holidays
👉ChatHealth is entirely text-based, offering an accessible alternative to traditional services and enabling people to reach out in moments of crisis when speaking on the phone or attending in person may feel difficult.

Texts sent will be charged at the senders’ network’s normal rate.
