Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical and mental health and social care with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of all our patients and their families. We currently run eight community hospitals in Oxfordshire, as well as providing mental health services in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and elsewhere. We also work in partnership with others such as GPs, local universities,

local authorities and voluntary organisations. If you or someone you care for needs to be admitted to hospital your care will be co-ordinated by a team of people and as close to home as possible. Our aim is always to work with you and your family to get you home as soon as you are well enough and continue to support you there.

Recently, Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department of Health and Social Care and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), visited Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust for a meeting focussing on NIHR Infrastructure, NIHR priorities and a tour of our research facilities.

Professor Chappell met with Research and Development colleagues from the Trust, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Oxford Health, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Oxford, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University of Oxford, Department of Psychiatry.

For parents and carers, this can be strengthened through approaches like Watch, Wait and Wonder 👀 – a gentle, play-based way to slow down, follow your child’s lead and better understand their cues.
