Is still a thing?
St Peter-in-the-East parish church became the St Edmund Hall Library in 1970. Many of the building’s distinctive architectural features were preserved in the renovation process and the new internal fixtures were arranged to mimic the layout of a traditional church. Here is a side by side comparison showing the nave in both the late 1960's and how it looks today.
We are so lucky to use such a beautiful piece of Oxfordshire's history as a space for our work and study.
