George Adam MSP Promoted by George Adam at Anchor One Unit 14, 7 Thread Street, Paisley PA1 1LR. He lives in the east end of Paisley with his wife Stacey.

George has been involved with the SNP since his late teens and has been active with the SNP in Paisley since the late 1980′s. Before being elected to Renfrewshire Council in 2007 George worked in the motor industry as a Corporate Sales Manager. George was Councillor for Paisley South: Ward 5 in Renfrewshire Council from 2007 until 2012. George is a proud Paisley Buddie who has lived in the town all of his life. Due to his wife Stacey, suffering MS, they are both members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Scotland. George is a passionate supporter of St Mirren FC and follows the Scotland national football team when he can. He was elected as an MSP on May 6th 2011.

There’s more to my speech on empowering local communities than “we’re not all Weegies!” 😂

I’m arguing for genuinely local councils in places like Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, Barrhead, Greenock and Port Glasgow, alongside a strong Renfrewshire strategic region bringing Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde together.

Local is where it matters and is the heart of everything. Region is where we can make the difference.

A bit of humour, but a serious point: if we reform local government, we should build around real communities while having the scale to deliver.

My proposal? A new Renfrewshire region bringing together Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire & Inverclyde, with strong local decision-making.

And yes, Paisley is the centre of the universe. 😉
