🌟 A Year of Progress for Charlton Hayes Parish Council 🌟

Over the past 12 months, Charlton Hayes Parish Council has continued to invest in our community, improve local services, and bring people together. Here are some of the key achievements and initiatives delivered during the year:

β€’ Launched a new Business Network Group to help local businesses connect, collaborate, and grow. The group now meets monthly, creating opportunities for networking and partnership working.

β€’ Supported the transfer of a management company into resident control, giving local people a stronger voice and greater influence over their community.

β€’ Installed eight additional bleed kits, bringing the total number across the parish to 12 and strengthening emergency preparedness.

β€’ Expanded access to life-saving defibrillators. By the end of July, there will be eight publicly accessible defibrillators across Charlton Hayes, Northfield Park and Brabazon, all available 24/7 and within a few minutes' walk of residents.

β€’ Continued support for FACE Youth Services, helping to provide activities and opportunities for young people. The Parish Council is also exploring a five-year commitment to youth provision in Charlton Hayes to ensure long-term support for local young people.

β€’ Support and promoted Concorde Community Magazine, providing a platform for local groups, events and businesses to reach the wider community. The first edition will be launched in June.

β€’ Successfully campaigned for a School Crossing Patrol, working in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council and providing local funding to support the service.

β€’ Delivered a highly successful Summer Festival in 2025, bringing together residents, community organisations and businesses for a day of family fun and community spirit. Following its success, the festival will return to Aerospace Bristol on 28 June 2026.

β€’ Organised popular community events, including the Christmas Light Switch-On, helping to bring residents together and create lasting memories. The Parish Council is gradually expanding the Christmas lights display to cover more areas of the parish each year.

β€’ Continued to support and promote community events, including the Charlton Hayes Fun Run, encouraging health, wellbeing and community participation.

β€’ Refreshed the planters in The Square in preparation for the summer season, supporting the Parish Council's Climate Action Plan, with further environmental initiatives planned for 2026.

β€’ Provided grant funding and support to local organisations, including Turtle CYP, Aerospace Bristol, Aretians RFC, FACE Youth Services, Super Kings, Bristol Kannada Balaga, The Brightwell, and Patchway Library to help fund additional opening hours for residents.

β€’ Invested in keeping our parish clean and welcoming. Our Environmental Officer has reported more than 40 fly-tipping incidents and removed over 300 bags of litter from across the parish, helping to improve the local environment for everyone.

Charlton Hayes Parish Council remains committed to building a thriving, connected and inclusive community, and we look forward to delivering even more for residents in 2026 and beyond.
