🚨💧 Emergency call out for NW Fire Protection this week after an electric smoke alarm head decided to become part smoke detector… part aquarium 🐠

Turns out water and electrics still aren’t the best of friends — who knew?

Just another normal day in the fire protection world… where you never quite know what’s waiting above the ceiling tiles!

Big shoutout to the team for turning a soggy situation into just another day on the tools 💪🔥

⚠️ When was the last time your electrics or smoke alarms checked? ⚠️

These images show the real risks of neglected electrical systems — fire damage, unsafe wiring, and installations that simply aren’t fit for purpose anymore.

Electrical faults are one of the leading causes of house fires, and many of them are preventable.

✅ Annual electrical testing helps to:
• Identify hidden faults before they become dangerous
• Ensure your installation meets current safety standards
• Protect your property and the people in it
• Give you peace of mind

Don’t wait until something goes wrong. Regular inspections can be the difference between a safe home and a costly (or even life-threatening) incident.

📅 Book your annual electrical check today — safety isn’t something to put off.

🚨 **New Commsion!** 🚨

A job we recently commissioned at a local pub that has undergone complete refurbishment. Nice straight forward job, all devices addressed, labelled and zoned. Document safe, logbook and zone charts supplied and installed by ourselves

🚨 **New Takeover Complete!** 🚨

Recent takeover job for a new client, where we were asked to work our magic and bring the system up to scratch. We designed and installed the zone chart, installed the new document safe with new logbook, callpoint covers and fixed a fault that was effecting the majority of the devices on the ground floor zone.

Training was provided to the client on how to carry out weekly testing of the system.

❌❌ **Fault Found and Rectified!** ✅✅

Another fault found by one of our engineers in the field after attending a call-out. EOL capacitor had let go (in catastrophic fashion). This caused a general fault on the panel, which the tenant noticed and called in. Simple repair and system back up and running fault free.

Notified of issue, engineer dispatched, fault found, rectified, all within 2 hours. Fast and efficient repair.

🚨 **New Project Completed!** 🚨

We were instructed by one of our repeat clients to install a new system for a shop fit-out to replace the existing, inadequate category M system (just manual call points and sounders, no detection). We were asked to provide a cost effective, yet compliant system which is why we opted to install a C-TEC (Computionics Limited) Alarmsense CFP control panel, with Apollo Fire Detectors Alarmsense series 65 devices.

Installed alongside the NW Electrical Installations Ltd team who were also onsite taking care of the electrical side of the fit-out.

Fast and efficient turn around, despite being on the other side of the UK.

Looking forward to the next.

❌❌ **Fault Found and Rectified!** ✅✅

We recently attended a property to carry out a takeover and service on a twin wire system. We quickly found almost an entire zone (including 2 sounder bases, 2 high risk areas and a manual call point on an escape route) were inoperable .Under closer inspection someone before us had disconnected the rest of the field wiring and fitted an EOL resister at the first point, rendering the panel to be fault free but not actually fixing the fault.

We found the issue (one leg had been screwed through when the detector was fixed to the ceiling, causing a short circuit). Rectified the fault and ensured all devices in the property were back up and running 100%

If your fire panel is showing a fault, don’t wait. Get it checked by a professional who can ensure everything is working as it should, protecting your property and everyone inside.
