Diweddariad ar y gwaith adfer yn dilyn tân gwyllt Bwlch Sychnant
Heddiw, cynhaliwyd ail gyfarfod y Grŵp Cydlynu Adfer, a sefydlwyd yn dilyn y tân gwyllt sylweddol ar y mynydd uwchlaw Bwlch Sychnant.
Mae’r Grŵp wedi cytuno ar nifer o flaenoriaethau i gefnogi adferiad yr ardal dros yr wythnosau a’r misoedd nesaf. Er bod llawer o waith i’w wneud o hyd, mae nifer o ddiweddariadau pwysig y dylai trigolion ac ymwelwyr fod yn ymwybodol ohonynt.
Y rhwydwaith trydan
Mae SP Energy Networks bellach wedi cwblhau’r gwaith o atgyweirio ac ailosod y peilonau a’r polion trydan a ddifrodwyd gan y tân.
Roedd hwn yn waith hynod heriol, a gyflawnwyd ar dir anodd ac mewn ardaloedd lle mae mannau poeth yn parhau yn sgil tân yr wythnos ddiwethaf. Hoffem ddiolch i’r peirianwyr am eu hymdrechion i adfer y seilwaith yn ddiogel.

Mae mapiau sy’n dangos y llwybrau sydd ar gau a’r cyfyngiadau presennol ar gael ar wefan Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy.
Hyd yn oed pan fo llwybrau troed yn parhau ar agor, anogir cerddwyr i fod yn ofalus. Mae’r tân gwyllt wedi gadael rhannau helaeth o’r tir yn ansefydlog ac, mewn rhai mannau, mae’n bosibl bod gwres o dan wyneb y tir o hyd.
Lle bo hynny’n bosibl, anogir pobl i osgoi’r ardaloedd yr effeithiwyd arnynt er mwyn rhoi cyfle i’r dirwedd a’r bywyd gwyllt adfer.
Cofiwch fod yn ofalus a pheidiwch â rhoi eich hunain mewn perygl. Mae hyn yn bwysig er eich diogelwch eich hunain ac er mwyn osgoi rhoi pwysau ychwanegol ar ein gwasanaethau brys lleol.
Adferiad amgylcheddol
Mae llawer o drigolion, yn ddealladwy, wedi holi am effeithiau amgylcheddol hirdymor y tân.
Bydd Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru (CNC) yn parhau i roi’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i swyddogion ac aelodau etholedig wrth i asesiadau pellach gael eu cynnal.
Er mai ychydig o law a ragwelir dros yr wythnos nesaf, bydd hyd yn oed symiau bach o law yn helpu i ddechrau sefydlogi’r tir yr effeithiwyd arno. Fodd bynnag, bydd yr asiantaethau partner yn parhau i fonitro’r sefyllfa’n ofalus.
Os ceir cyfnodau o law trwm, cynhelir asesiadau pellach i fonitro:
sefydlogrwydd y llethrau yr effeithiwyd arnynt;
yr effaith bosibl ar gyrsiau dŵr lleol a ffynonellau dŵr; a
chyflwr y ffyrdd a allai gael eu heffeithio gan ddŵr wyneb a malurion.
Ymgysylltu â’r gymuned
Bydd Cyngor Tref Penmaenmawr, ynghyd â Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy, cynghorwyr sir lleol ac asiantaethau partner, yn trefnu cyfarfodydd ar gyfer trigolion a busnesau yr effeithiwyd arnynt gan y tân gwyllt.
Bydd y sesiynau hyn yn rhoi cyfle i bobl:
gael cyngor a chymorth;
ofyn cwestiynau am y rhaglen adfer; a
rhannu adborth a phrofiadau o’r digwyddiad.
Cyhoeddir rhagor o fanylion cyn gynted ag y bydd y trefniadau wedi’u cadarnhau.
Parhewch i fod yn ofalus
Er bod y prif ddigwyddiad bellach drosodd, mae’r tywydd yn parhau’n eithriadol o gynnes a sych. Dim ond un wreichionen sydd ei hangen i gychwyn tân gwyllt sylweddol arall.
Parhewch i ddilyn yr holl gyngor a chanllawiau wrth ymweld â chefn gwlad hardd yr ardal.
Drwy gymryd ychydig mwy o ofal, gallwn ni i gyd helpu i ddiogelu ein cymunedau, ein bywyd gwyllt a’r rhan arbennig hon o Gymru wrth i’r gwaith adfer barhau.
Sychnant Pass Wildfire Recovery Update
Today marked the second meeting of the Recovery Co-ordination Group established following the significant wildfire on the mountain above the Sychnant Pass.
The Group has agreed a number of priorities to support the recovery of the area over the coming weeks and months. Whilst there is still much work to do, there are several important updates that residents and visitors should be aware of.
Electricity Network
SP Energy Networks has now completed its work to repair and replace the electricity pylons and poles damaged by the fire. This has been an extremely challenging operation, carried out in difficult terrain and in areas where lingering hotspots from last week's fire remain. We would like to thank the engineers for their efforts in restoring the infrastructure safely.
Public Rights of Way
Several Public Rights of Way remain closed or restricted whilst recovery work continues. These include:

Maps showing current closures and restrictions are available on the Conwy County Borough Council website.
Even where footpaths remain open, walkers are urged to exercise caution. The wildfire has left large areas of land unstable and, in some locations, there may still be residual heat beneath the surface. Wherever possible, people are encouraged to avoid the affected areas to allow the landscape and wildlife the opportunity to recover. Please exercise caution and don't put yourself in danger - this is important for your own personal safety and also to avoid additional pressures on our local emergency services.
Environmental Recovery
Many residents have understandably asked about the longer-term environmental impacts of the fire.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) will continue to provide updates to officers and elected members as further assessments are undertaken. Whilst only limited rainfall is forecast over the coming week, even small amounts of rain will help begin stabilising the affected land. However, agencies will continue to monitor conditions closely.
Should periods of heavy rainfall occur, further assessments will be undertaken to monitor:
* the stability of the affected hillsides;
* the impact on local watercourses and water sources; and
* the condition of roads that could be affected by surface water and debris runoff.
Community Engagement
Penmaenmawr Town Council, together with Conwy County Borough Council, local County Councillors and partner agencies, will be arranging meetings for residents and businesses affected by the wildfire.
These sessions will provide an opportunity to:
* receive advice and support;
* ask questions about the recovery programme; and
* share feedback and experiences from the incident.

Although the main incident has now passed, conditions remain exceptionally warm and dry. It only takes a single stray spark to ignite another significant wildfire.
Please continue to follow all advice and guidance when visiting our beautiful local countryside. By taking a little extra care, we can all help protect our communities, our wildlife and this wonderful part of Wales as it continues to recover.
