Thames Valley Police is seeking feedback from residents across Buckinghamshire to help identify the issues that matter most within their local communities. The responses received will directly inform local neighbourhood policing priorities and help ensure that officers focus on the concerns having the greatest impact on residents.

It is important that you have your say to ensure that the limited resources available to the neighbourhood policing team are effectively employed and we would urge you to complete the survey (which is short).

All Buckinghamshire Council Household Recycling Centres move to Winter opening hours on Thursday 1 October: 9am-4pm at every site. This change is made every year as sites get quieter and the evenings get darker. The Winter opening hours run from 1 October until the 31 March. Usual opening days at sites remain the same.

A new edition of the My Family, Our Needs (MFON) publication, the South East Guide for Parent Carers of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities has been released.

It will be published in November 2026 in paper form. Copies will be available free of charge from the parish office.

The Summer Reading Challenge is back in Buckinghamshire Libraries and children across the county are already enjoying this year's exciting theme, Read to the Beat!

The challenge encourages children to keep reading throughout the summer holidays by borrowing books from the library, collecting rewards and discovering new stories along the way. It's free to take part and is a great way to help children maintain their reading skills while having fun.

There's still plenty of time to get involved - visit your local library to sign up, borrow books and start your reading journey. Library staff are on hand to help children find books they'll enjoy, whether they're keen readers or just getting started.

As well as the reading challenge itself, libraries across Buckinghamshire are hosting a fantastic programme of themed events and activities throughout the summer holidays.
Whether your child loves stories, music, creativity or simply discovering new books, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
