Don’t miss this next week!

On Wednesday the 12th at 18:13 the moon will slowly start to cover the sun, reaching maximum eclipse (94% coverage) at 19:10. This is the last time the UK will see an eclipse this deep until 2090!

⚠️ It is really important that you use special solar eclipse viewing glasses. NEVER look directly into the sun, and do not use binoculars, telescopes, cameras or your phone to view the eclipse unless you have a special solar filter.

🔭 Why not join Anglesey Astronomical Society for their FREE event to make sure you view safely? They will be meeting at Cuffed in Coffee, Traeth Newry, at 17:30.

🕶️ They will have certified solar eclipse glasses and telescopes to help you view the eclipse safely.

Calling all astrophotographers 🌌📷

The Milky Way season is approaching, and Ynys Llanddwyn and Tŵr Mawr are popular photography destinations in August. We know there are concerns within the astrophotography community about the new parking system at Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest.

We're working with Ynys Môn Dark Skies to host an online meeting on 23 July, 5pm – 7pm. We want to hear and better understand the issues people are experiencing, explain the sensitivities of the site and our position, and explore whether there are workable solutions.

Mae tymor y Llwybr Llaethog bron â'n cyrraedd, ac mae Ynys Llanddwyn a Thŵr Mawr yn fannau poblogaidd ar gyfer tynnu lluniau ym mis Awst. Rydym yn ymwybodol bod pryderon o fewn y gymuned astroffotograffiaeth ynghylch y system barcio newydd yng Ngwarchodfa Natur Genedlaethol a Choedwig Niwbwrch.
