Final few days of the Celebrating Fell Ponies exhibition, which closes on Bank Holiday Monday. Trot along for a final viewing or pick up some art- or craft-work or a book or two as early Christmas presents!

Join us at The Old Courthouse Shap on Saturday 20th August as we follow some pony Travels through Westmorland, enjoying an evening of story, imagery, poetry, song and music with Bill Lloyd as compere.

Hear memories of working ponies, pack horse roads, drovers' routes, the road to Appleby Fair, Brough Hill Fair and Cowper Day (Ray Alderson). Travel along bridleways in the Westmorland Dales (Vyv Wood-Gee).

Starts at 7.30pm. Gallery open from 7.00pm

The Exhibition continues...

Thank you to Barbara, Sarah, Sue and Clive for their commentary regarding the making of 'A Century of Fells' and to Peter for his insight into what he looks for when judging a Fell Pony.

Continuing the celebration of the Centenary of the Fell Pony Society. 7pm this evening at the Old Courthouse: an evening with Sue Millard, Clive Richardson, Barbara Bell and Sarah Charlton, talking about the making of A CENTURY OF FELLS - still a few places left if you want to book, and like all the evening events of the Centenary, it's free. Come and talk to the Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership about your experiences with Fell Ponies and the Commons. (Closed Wednesday, and back to usual hours from 21-29 August)
