We’re incredibly disappointed to see valued local suppliers receiving parking fines while simply delivering essential goods to village businesses.
With no designated loading bays in Pooley Bridge, delivery drivers—including Royal Mail—have little choice but to park as safely and respectfully as possible. Without these services, local businesses simply couldn’t operate.
We asked for designated loading areas over a year ago, yet the issue remains unresolved. Now, with further proposals potentially reducing valuable village-centre parking, alongside the continued refusal of existing and additional car-parking applications by the Lake District National Park Authority, the pressure on local businesses continues to grow.
Sadly, we are now considering having to review some of the valuable services we provide to our community because of decisions beyond our control.
Pooley Bridge is a busy, thriving tourist destination. We aren’t asking for special treatment—just a practical solution and a little common sense to support the suppliers and businesses that keep our village running.
