Crosby Ravensworth C.E Primary School

Crosby Ravensworth C.E Primary School A love of learning for life in all its fullness. Courage, Compassion, Community. Being small is wonderful! Delicious hot meals are cooked on site every day.

It allows us to thrive in a family atmosphere and tailor our provision to meet the needs of each and every one of our pupils. We're fully committed to nurturing each child as they develop their unique talents amidst our stunning rural backdrop. In the last two years, our leavers have exceded national attainment standards in all SATS tests. We have two classes of mixed age pupils with a separate pr

e-school nursery attached. Wrap around care is now in place, with breakfast and after school clubs running daily to support working families while providing wider opportunities for children to learn and play together. Since extending in 2011, the school has moved with the times to ensure all children have regular access to ipads and laptops to support their learning. We are proud of our past, but ambitious about our future. To find out more, please arrange a visit and we'd be delighted to show you around. Duncan Priestley

The children in Robins class took part in a tri-kids event this morning at Bolton Park. They thoroughly enjoyed swimming (with ropes) biking and running plus we got to play on the park too. This was a free event run by Tri Kidz, part of Epic Kidz Charity

What a wonderful day out for our children! 🙏✨

Today we visited the Buddhist Temple in Ulverston, where the children had a fantastic opportunity to learn about the history of Buddhism and the story of this international temple. The children were full of curiosity, great questions, and quiet wonder.

Afterwards, we headed down to the beach for fun skimming and throwing pebbles, breathing in the sea air, and just enjoying being together. 🪨🌊

We made it home with time to spare for some extra playtime and well-deserved ice cream! 🍦😄

A huge thank you to the Friends of Crosby Ravensworth School for generously supporting the cost of today's trip — days like this simply wouldn't be possible without you. We are so grateful! 💛

A humble appeal to our school community

Next Friday, two members of the school team will be taking on the challenge of the Great North Swim in Windermere, one of the UK's largest open-water swimming events.
Our School Business Manager, Abi Ruehorn-Hyde, and I are both swimming in support of causes that are important to us. I am raising funds for Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust in Penrith, which helps children and adults communicate, build confidence and improve wellbeing, while Abi is swimming for Cancer Research UK, whose vital work funds life-saving research.
While Abi is an experienced lake swimmer, this will be her first organised swimming event. For me, it is more of a step into the unknown, having never taken part in an open-water event before and only recently experienced my first swim in a wetsuit!
If anyone in our school community feels able to support us, we would be truly grateful — whether that's making a donation, however small, or simply sharing our pages with friends and family.

Thank you for the kindness and encouragement of our wonderful school community — it means a great deal to us both.
