Shap Public Toilets are now officially open!
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to those who came to support us today.🙌

National Highways are closing the northbound carriageway of the M6 between J39 & J40 on Sunday night, 14th June to carry out alterations to the traffic management set up for the Clifton Rail Bridge works.

The closure will be the usual time of 22:00hrs to 05:00hrs, Sunday night into Monday morning.

As usual emergency vehicles will be accommodated through the closure where possible.

Today at 11am, our Chairman Jean Jackson will be officially opening our newly refurbished puiblic toilets. Members of the public are welcome to join us. Photos to follow!

REMINDER - PUBLIC CONSULTATION TODAY

Parking Restrictions Consultation - Wednesday 27th May 1400-1800
Location: The Market Cross, Main Street, Shap, CA10 3NL

The Parish Council is aware of concerns within the village regarding inconsiderate and potentially dangerous parking. As a result, the Parish has approached W&F Highways to prepare a proposal outlining how these issues could be addressed through the introduction of parking restrictions. Following the consultation event held by Shap Parish Council last year, all comments received were carefully reviewed and, where appropriate, amendments have been made to the proposals. Highways are now at the stage of finalising the proposals into formal measures and agreeing their implementation. However, before proceeding, we welcome further comments from the local community to ensure the proposals are appropriate and effective.
