Redruth Community Standard Inspections

******ANTI- SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR AWARENESS WEEK 2026 - 29th June - 5th July*****

ASB Awareness Week is a national campaign bringing together housing, policing, local government, charities and community partners to shine a spotlight on ASB, strengthen local responses, and amplify the rights of victims.

In this week our ASB caseworkers Kay and Annie will be available for a drop in where you can discuss concerns and ask for advice, all are welcome to attend ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We know that ASB is an emotive subject and most victims/witnesses do not report it to police or council often because they believe nothing will be done or do not know how to report it.

On Monday the 29th June Kay will be at the Foundry (2 Trelowarren Street, Camborne) from 11am until 1pm,

On Thursday the 2nd July Annie will be at Redruth Library (Alma Place, Redruth) from 10am until 12pm

Join the Friends of Victoria Park and Redruth Town Council for a fantastic day of family fun at Victoria Park on Saturday 11th July, from 11am to 4pm.

Enjoy live music in the bandstand, a dog show with K9 Crusaders Dog Welfare, giant games, a children's bouncy assault course, food and drink stalls, charity and community stands, an ice cream van, and refreshments at the Bowling Club. There's something for everyone to enjoy! ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿฆ

๐ŸฅตItโ€™s hot, but donโ€™t be tempted | Cold water shock

Jumping or diving into water from cliffs, bridges, harbours or piers when you donโ€™t know whatโ€™s beneath the surface is extremely risky.

There is also the strong risk of cold water shock - the incapacitating effect on the body of entering water 15ยฐC and below (and deep water will be much colder than the temperature on land) is often underestimated. This shock can be the precursor to drowning.

Parents should be aware where their children are to make sure they are not taking part in this dangerous behaviour, to keep them safe. Everyone should observe prohibition notices on bridges, harbours and other locations near the water.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cornwall Councilโ€™s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Team a dedicated ASB Caseworker in Penzance or Redruth.

The successful applicants will manage a caseload of anti-social behaviour, making decisions about appropriate action in liaison with other partners and keeping their community safe.

The Dedicated ASB Caseworkers are part of the ASB Team which sits within the wider Community Safety Team. The ASB Team delivers a high quality service through the use of prevention and enforcement tools. The purpose of the team is to tackle a range of anti-social behaviour in adults and young people, covering all housing tenures, in neighbourhoods and in community-based hotspots, through being solution focused and working in partnership with relevant agencies.
