📟 Out on a shout - Tasking 60-2026📟

The team were tasked on Sunday 20th September at 23.50 to support police with a search for a high risk missing person.
The team arrived quickly at Wherrytown and carried out a search from there to Tolcarne.
New information was received by the police and our focus quickly switched to a new search area around the coastal path opposite Tescos and the surrounding beach area
With support from a police dog unit and police drone unit the team started searching the foreshore.
Penzance Oscar requested additional support from Penlee ILB to search the water around the area but just before they launched, an eagle eye member of the team spotted something in the rock armour, with the casualty now located we carried out and assessment and requested an ambulance.
Once on scene we stretcher the casualty to the ambulance for onward care
Many thanks the Devon and Cornwall Police units, South Western ambulance service for there support and to Penlee Lifeboat for mustering prior to being stood down with thanks.

The team were tasked at 14.46 on Sunday 6th September for a male who had fallen on the cliff path near Mayon Cliff.
Arriving on scene the team carried out casualty care for a head injury before the casualty was placed in a stretcher for transport to the waiting ambulance.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

The team were tasked yesterday at 16.31 to reports of a person having a medical incident on Longrock Beach.
Arriving quickly on scene, the ambulance had already arrived, we made our way to the beach and liaised with the paramedics who were dealing with the casualty, as they were happy, we were stood down
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery .

📟Out on a shout - Tasking 56/2026📟

The team were tasked yesterday at 16.33 to reports of persons cut off by the tide on chapel rock, Marazion
Quickly on scene, we could see the people on chapel rock and the lifeguard who was talking with them.
With the sea conditions deteriorating Penlee ALB and rescue 924 arrived on scene, and whilst Penlee prepared and launched there Y Boat, rescue 924, assessing the situation from above decided a winch rescue would be the safest option.
As the 5 persons were winched up to the helicopter, we prepared a HLS (helicopter landing site)on the Folly Field, clearing the play park and sea front, winching now completed
924 landed on the field and transferred the persons to the waiting Coastguards, who dispensed safety advice.
Thanks to Penlee ALB, Rescue 924, Marazion lifeguards and the members of the public who quickly moved clear of the seafront and play park to allow the helicopter to land.

📟 Out on a shout - Tasking 55-2026📟

The team were tasked yesterday at 17.33 to reports of a lady with a hip injury at Venton cove in Marazion
Quickly on scene, we located the casualty, who was in a lot of pain, she informed us that her hip had dislocated.
We continued with casualty care whilst requests were made to the ambulance service for urgent pain relief, with the arrival of the tri services first responder and shortly after 2 ambulance service responders we were able to help relieve some of the pain, allowing us to slowly move the lady onto our stretcher
We then slowly move the casualty across the rocks and off the beach to the waiting ambulance.
Many thank to the first responders for their attendance and also to the owners of Venton farmhouse who allowed us to use their beautiful garden as an RV point and then provided tea and biscuits to all involved.

📟Out on a shout -Tasking 53/54-2026📟

The team were tasked twice yesterday

At 15.31 the team were tasked to Penzance Prom to reports of an object or person in the water off the prom, arriving quickly on scene, the team liaised with the first informant and then carried out a search along the prom from Jubilee pool to Tolcarne, we spoke to several traders on the prom who had also witnessed 2 people entering the water but also leaving a short time later
Confident that no one was in difficulty the team stood down and returned to station.
As we were re stowing the vehicle the second call came in at 17.08 to reports of a person who had suffered a back injury at Portherras cove.
Leaving the station immediately, we were on scene within 10 minutes, members of the team made their way, with the first responder, down to the casualty and carried out an assessment of the injury.
Due to this and the location of the casualty a request for support from rescue 924 and a second team was requested.
Preparations for the helicopters arrival where made and a HLS set up at the RV point adjacent to the car park at the top of the cove
The helicopter dropped off the winchman paramedic, and it was decided to transfer the casualty to the HLS and onto the ambulance
Lands End CRT provided support with moving equipment and transferring the casualty from helicopter to ambulance
Once the helicopter and ambulance had left scene we regroup for a de brief before both teams returned to there respective stations
Great collaborative working was shown by all involved

The team were tasked this morning at 02.07 to assist Portreath CRT and Devon and Cornwall Police with an ongoing search for a missing person in the Hayle area.

Working alongside the lifeboat crews from St Ives Lifeboat, the teams searched for several hours until we were stood down at 04.45 pending further information

Just a reminder, that the station will be open on Tuesday 25th August from 18.30-20.30 for anyone wishing to gain more of an insight into the role of a Coastguard rescue officer and is thinking of applying to join us

📟Out on a shout - Tasking 51/2026 📟

The team were tasked yesterday at 20.47 to reports of a person having a fit on the beach at Portherras cove.
We arrived on scene and 2 members proceeded down to the beach to locate the casualty and begin casualty care.
A full search of the beach was carried out and with no one located we contacted Falmouth for an update.
We were informed that the casualty had taken their own medication and feeling better had decided to leave scene.
With the update received we regrouped and return to station.
