We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Tuesday 6 October in Drakes Broughton, Worcestershire.

The collision happened around 4.30pm on Stonebow Road and involved a white Ford Transit van and a blue Toyota CHR.

A man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s from the Toyota were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the collision or who may have information or dashcam footage to assist with the investigation is asked to contact PC Chris Woolman by emailing [email protected]

SEIZED | Officers on patrol in Pershore seized a suspected stolen moped on Friday following reports from members of the public.

The Suzuki Avenis 125 was spotted unattended on Farleigh Road before being seized. The vehicle is also believed to be linked to recent reports of ASB and criminality in the Pershore and Evesham area.

Detectives continue to investigate the death of an 11-year-old girl in Elmley Castle, near Pershore.

The girl was reported missing at around 11.20pm on Sunday 4 October and was later sadly found deceased in the park near the cricket ground.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained while officers work to establish the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Her family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

We’re aware of speculation surrounding this incident and the community impact it is having and we can confirm at this time we are not trying to identify any third party involved and further details will be released when we are able to.

Chief Inspector Daniel Pilkington said: “Our thoughts remain with the girl’s family and friends at what is an incredibly sad and difficult time for them.

“We understand the death of a young girl will have caused considerable sadness and concern within Elmley Castle and the wider community.

“Officers are continuing to work to establish the circumstances surrounding her death and, while we keep an open mind as those enquiries progress, there is nothing at this stage to suggest there is any wider risk to the community.

“People may continue to see officers in Elmley Castle while this work takes place, and I hope their presence provides some reassurance to residents."

An investigation continues after the body of a missing girl was found in Elmley Castle near Pershore.

The 11-year-old girl was reported missing around 11.20pm yesterday evening (Sunday 4 October) and was later sadly found deceased in the park near the cricket ground.

Her family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Chief Inspector Daniel Pilkington said: “We know the death of a young girl will be deeply upsetting for the local community, and our thoughts remain with her family and friends at this time.

“Her death is currently being treated as unexplained, and we are carrying out enquiries to fully understand the circumstances and provide her family with the answers they deserve.

“We would also ask people not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding her death. This is an incredibly difficult time for her family, and I would urge everyone to be mindful of the impact that speculation could have on them.

“People may notice an increased police presence in Elmley Castle while these enquiries continue. I want to reassure residents that this is part of our work to establish exactly what has happened, and officers will also be available to speak to anyone in the community who has concerns.”

👉🏼 Following reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) involving children at Bakers Arcade on Tuesday 22 September and Pershore Library on Friday, the Safer Neighbourhood Team has identified those responsible and appropriate action will now be taken.

We understand the concern that anti-social behaviour can bring to our town and we will continue working with our community and partners to help keep Pershore a safe and welcoming place.

We are appealing for information after a 16-year-old boy died during a collision near Defford. ⬇️

CAN YOU HELP? | Appeal after teenager dies in a collision in Worcestershire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager died during a single-vehicle collision near Defford last night (Saturday 12 September).

A blue Volkswagen Polo was travelling along the A4104 from Defford and in the direction of Dunstall around 9.20pm.

The vehicle then collided with a tree between the carriageway and the slip road to Bourne Road.

Sadly, a passenger of the car – a boy aged 16 – suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers, aged 16 and 17, were in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

Detective Sergeant Rose Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the boy who tragically lost his life yesterday. They are being supported by specialist officers and will be kept informed throughout the investigation process.

“We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, or the vehicle travelling prior to the incident taking place.

“If you have any information or dashcam footage which may help us piece together the moments leading up to the collision, please get in contact with us.”
