Crews were called this morning at 0950 to a slightly complex RTC. We worked alongside colleagues from Evesham Fire Station and recovery vehicle to make the vehicle safe and complete checks of the property.
Fortunately no casualties involved at this incident.

🔥🚒 Fire in the Open for us this afternoon in Drakes Broughton. Quick intervention from the crew stopped further fire spread alongside our colleagues from Worcester Fire Station & Water Carrier from Evesham Fire Station .
Crews will revisit the site later this evening to ensure no further hot spots have appeared due to wind conditions. 🚒🔥

🚒 Two RTCs, back to back! 🚒

A busy evening for our crews, attending two road traffic collisions across the local area.

🚗 First stop – Drakes Broughton
Crews attended a local RTC with no casualties reported. The vehicle was made safe at the scene, with minor traffic control put in place.

🚒 Second stop – Bushley, near Tewkesbury
Appliances from Gloucester and Cheltenham West attended, with Pershore taking over incident command on arrival. Two occupants had self-extricated and were monitored by our colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

👏 A great example of crews working together across services to keep people safe.

🚒 Make Safe – Bredon

Pershore was called this evening to a vehicle that had left the road and come to rest upside down near Bredon.

Thankfully, the occupants had already managed to release themselves from the vehicle and, fortunately, no injuries were sustained.

Crews made the scene safe and dealt with the vehicle before leaving the incident in a safe condition.

A reminder that things can change very quickly on our roads — take care out there. 🚗💨

Tonight’s training was all about Road Traffic Collision (RTC) extrication — two vehicles, two different scenarios, and a whole lot of cutting, spreading, stabilising and generally taking cars apart. 🔧🚒

The aim wasn't simply to make holes in cars for the sake of it. Each vehicle gave us the opportunity to practise different extrication techniques, looking at how we can safely create space around a casualty and ultimately remove them from a damaged vehicle.

And, of course, there's always a method behind the madness.

Working through different scenarios means crews can practise assessing the vehicle, identifying the best access and egress points, considering casualty needs, stabilising the vehicle and then selecting the appropriate tools and techniques to achieve a controlled extrication.

🚨 TRAINING EXERCISE | TEWKESBURY MARINA

🔥 A boat fire. Around 30 people on board. Multiple casualties in the water.

Thankfully, this wasn't a real incident — but it was the scenario crews faced during today's multi-agency exercise at Tewkesbury Marina.

Appliances from Pershore Fire and Broadway Fire joined emergency service colleagues and specialist rescue teams from across the region for a realistic exercise designed to test how we work together when an incident crosses service and county boundaries.

On arrival, crews quickly dealt with the simulated boat fire. But it soon became clear that casualties had entered the water, turning the incident into a search and water rescue operation.

Pershore and Broadway crews were deployed to the southern end of Tewkesbury, searching the riverbank while Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) boats searched the River Avon.
Two casualties were located and treated by crews on the riverbank before being handed over to colleagues from South Western Ambulance Service.

But exercises like this aren't just about finding casualties.

They're about working together.
Different organisations. Different equipment. Different areas of expertise — all coming together, communicating and coordinating to achieve the same objective.

And when an incident happens across a county boundary, those relationships become even more important.

A huge thank you to Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service for organising today's exercise and bringing so many emergency services and specialist teams together.
