PKC Waste Services Team

PKC Waste Services Team Providing up to date information on domestic and commercial waste services and campaigns across Perth and Kinross.

This account is monitored during our opening hours 8.45am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. We're here to provide information and help householders and businesses with their waste and recycling. We aim to be respectful in our posts and any comments we respond to. We expect the same of all those contributing to our page. We want our page to be safe, friendly and an open place for discussion on all things wa

ste and recycling related. We therefore have the following house rules to help support that:
- All users must comply with the social media platform's terms of use as well as our own terms of use
- We answer enquiries/messages as soon as possible within working hours: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
- We will remove, in whole or in part, posts that we feel are inappropriate – for example bullying or harassment - or discriminatory against any individual or group
- You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content you choose to share
- We will remove messages (where function allows) and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages at us which we believe are:
- abusive or obscene
- deceptive or misleading
- in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
- in violation of any law or regulation
- spam and off-topic content
- promotional material

Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform. We will not tolerate or respond to abusive messages. We must always remain politically neutral on social media which is why council officers are unable to reply to, endorse or engage with, any content that is of a party political nature. Political issues can be discussed with local councillors.

This , take part in the ! Swap out just ONE single-use item for a reusable one from 16th to 20th June.

Why does it matter? Every minute, a truckload of plastic ends up in our oceans. Most of it is used once and thrown away.

By choosing to reuse, even just for 5 days, you’re showing that there’s a better way. And, if enough of us do it, we can spark real change.

This , take part in the ! Swap out just ONE single-use item for a reusable one from 16th to 20th June.

Some easy starting points:
• Carry a refillable water bottle
• Use a reusable coffee cup or lunchbox
• Choose loose fruit & veg instead of plastic-wrapped
• Say no to plastic cutlery – bring your own
• Wrap snacks in beeswax wraps or containers
• There’s no pressure to be perfect – just give it a go and share your progress!

Update: Blairgowrie Recycling Centre will reopen from 12 noon today Monday 15th June. Opening hours will return to normal from then, please check www.pkc.gov.uk/recyclingcentres for a reminder.

Update: Unfortunately, we have had to take the decision to temporarily close Blairgowrie Recycling Centre while the works continue. This is due to long queues causing access issues for neighbours, and the discovery of shallow cabling complicating the excavation. We will reopen the site as soon as possible and apologise for the inconvenience.

***

We are undertaking works at the Blairgowrie Recycling Centre that will require additional traffic management procedures. Temporary traffic management will be in place until Monday 29 June 2026.

Please be patient, as these works may cause delays. Kindly follow the instructions given by the site attendants.

Thank you for your cooperation.
