We are proud to support National Hate Crime Awareness Week (10 to 17 October 2026).

Hate crime can have a lasting impact on victims, their families and the wider community. As a Council of Sanctuary, we are committed to helping create a safer, more welcoming and inclusive Perth and Kinross. We stand alongside our communities to promote kindness, challenge prejudice and tackle hatred.

Hate crime is criminal behaviour motivated by prejudice and can include assault, verbal abuse, harassment, online abuse and threatening behaviour.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, regardless of their age, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, transgender identity or background.

Today marks - Celebrating you and the whole community of being out, proud and loud!

'Coming out' is a significant moment for everyone across the community, and for many they spend their whole lives coming out in varying circumstances

However, this is also a day to keep in mind of those feeling unable to come out, whether it's anxiety, fear of hate, bullying or discrimination and, in some cases around the world, legal issues

We hear of stories of those with experiences of coming out, some of them humbling, some that bring tears and some that bring pain

At Rainbow Heartlands LGBT+ Perth and Kinross, we always encourage you to be your own true self whenever and wherever you feel safe to do that, and we would hope there comes a point in time that there's no limits on being visible and open about your identity as well

The Perth Parrots is about more than floorball. It’s a club that priorities supporting all of our members to have fitter, happier, and healthier lives.

Parrots Fitness is one of our initiatives aimed at making this happen.

This October our feathered flock are on a mission to make it back to Perth after being stranded at the home of our friends, the Hawks, in Hawick. To get home our squad have to run, walk, cycle, or swim via each of our league opponents!

The whole challenge is 115 miles which means that by the time we all get home on Halloween we’ll have a bit of space for some of our trick and treat sweets!

We’ll be sharing a few updates in our stories over the month, and if you’re so inclined, you can join us in this virtual challenge!
