Every year we support Comrie Fortnight by offering local people an exclusive after-hours tours of the park – and this year we went one step further! We gave visitors a special sneak preview of our brand-new galah house during the event.

Galahs are a distinctive species of Australian parrot, and we’ve built a brand-new home for them right at the heart of our Australian zone. Visitors to Perthshire Zoo at Auchingarrich can now see galahs alongside our boobook owls, kookaburras, wallabies and kangaroos in this dedicated area.

The galahs are settling in perfectly and seem absolutely delighted with their new home. We hope the before-and-after photos show just how much care and hard work went into creating this wonderful new enclosure.

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Tractor Driver to take families and visitors on guided tours around our beautiful wildlife park! You’ll drive our safe, modern tractor and trailer, sharing fun facts about our animals, history and daily life at Auchingarrich.

It’s not just driving – you’re part of the experience! You’ll be welcoming guests, answering questions and helping make every visit special.

✅ What you need

• Full clean UK driving licence

• Confident driving tractors with trailers; calm and careful around visitors

• Great people skills – happy to chat to all ages, friendly and professional

• Reliable, punctual and smartly presented

• Interest in animals or the outdoors is a big bonus!

• No previous tour experience needed – we’ll give you full training on our route and animals

🛍️ Retail & Admissions Manager

Location: Auchingarrich, Comrie, Perthshire
Hours: Full-time – flexible hours to match business needs across summer and winter seasons, including weekends and school holidays

📋 About the Role

We are looking for an organised, friendly and experienced Manager to lead our Admissions and Retail teams. You will be the face of our park, ensuring every visitor starts their day with a warm welcome, and our shops run smoothly, look great and deliver excellent customer service.

This is a hands‑on role – you will lead by example, stepping in to serve customers, operate our ticketing system and help the team whenever needed. You will adapt easily between our busy summer season and quieter winter months, with hours flexed to match visitor numbers.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Admissions & Visitors

• Manage all ticket sales, memberships and pre‑booked entries across till systems and online bookings

• Lead the front‑of‑house team to deliver a helpful, efficient and friendly welcome to every guest

• Resolve enquiries, booking issues and visitor queries calmly and professionally

• Monitor entry numbers and help manage daily visitor flow

Retail Operations

• Oversee our gift shop and food retail areas – stock management, ordering, displays and pricing

• Ensure shelves are well‑stocked, attractively presented and priced correctly

• Control cash handling, reconciliation and till accuracy; follow all financial procedures

• Drive sales through great display, helpful recommendations and seasonal promotions

Team & Administration

• Organise rotas, train new staff and support your team all year round

• Keep accurate records of stock, sales and attendance

• Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with health & safety rules

• Work closely with operations and events teams to support special occasions

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in retail, customer service or front‑of‑house management

• Confident using computerised tills, booking systems and stock tools

• Friendly, approachable manner – you enjoy helping people of all ages

• Flexible and reliable – happy to work weekends and adjust hours seasonally

• Calm under pressure and able to keep standards high on busy days

• Ideally an interest in wildlife, tourism or the outdoors – but not essential
