If you're a council tenant, there has been a change to the household contents insurance scheme available through Perth and Kinross Council.

From 1 June 2026, all new and renewing policies under the scheme are provided by Ecclesiastical, replacing Royal and Sun Alliance Limited (RSA). Quotes, payments and claims support are managed by URIS.

Household contents insurance can help protect your belongings against incidents such as flooding, burst pipes, fire and theft.

The cost of cover depends on factors including your postcode, personal circumstances and the level of cover you choose.

We insure the building you live in, but your personal belongings are not covered by this insurance. We strongly recommend that you arrange your own contents insurance to help protect the things that matter to you if something unexpected happens.

To help make contents insurance more accessible, we have sourced a provider that offers affordable contents insurance for tenants. You are not obliged to use this provider and are free to explore other insurance providers and choose the cover that best meets your needs and circumstances. The important thing is to make sure you have suitable cover in place to protect your belongings.
