Please be aware of the temporary closure of Car Park 2 (Patient and Public Treatment Centre Car Park) today. This is due to our work to install new modular staff accommodation at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, including crane lifts and module installation over the coming weeks.
This will also impact on the below scheduled Saturdays:

Saturday 6 June
Saturday 13 June
Saturday 20 June
Saturday 27 June
Saturday 18 July
Saturday 25 July
Saturday 8 August

There will be clearly marked alternative arrangements in place with patients and visitors to our hospital being redirected to the staff car park located at the front of the hospital site on the Saturday’s when traffic to and from the hospital site is reduced. This is to keep the impact to operational needs to a minimum where possible. Patients and hospital visitors parking in the staff car park will not be requested to pay while the Treatment Centre Car Park is closed.

There will be an increase in delivery vehicles accessing the site with traffic marshals in place to support safe vehicle movement. Please allow extra time when arriving on site. There will also be short periods of elevated noise during working hours and some weekend activity to reduce weekday disruption.

We are working closely with clinical and operational teams to minimise disruption, maintain safe access across site and scheduled high-impact works at quieter times and we will continue to ensure that emergency and ambulance access will be prioritised throughout.

Thank you, we appreciate your understanding while we improve our facilities.

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day. Worldwide, as many as 1 in 5 new mothers experiences some type of perinatal mood and/ or anxiety disorder (PMADs). Without understanding, support, and treatment these mental illnesses have a devastating impact on the women affected and on their partners and families.

Perinatal mood disorders affect the entire family. An integrated approach to family mental health allows both parents to move beyond the postpartum period as a thriving family unit.

In addition to grief, many of these women also experience postpartum depression. Giving birth to a premature child, or having a child spend extended time in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, can also take a toll on maternal mental health.

We recently welcomed Baroness Gillian Merron at Peterborough City Hospital, ahead of the launch of the new Women’s Health Strategy – which was published yesterday.
Baroness Merron, Minister for Women's Health, was given a tour of our Women’s Health services by Deputy Chief Executive, Charlotte Williams and Nikki Campbell, Acting Divisional Nursing Director. They met patients and discussed the importance of addressing the specific health needs of women and removing barriers to accessing care.
