A very positive result for North Ward.

Cllr Asim Mahmood and Cllr Zameer Ali will continue to push the Safer Communities Team for more cameras in the ward at fly tipping hotspots to catch individuals in the act.

Two men have been ordered to pay £703 by Peterborough Magistrates Court after they were caught on CCTV dumping a mattress on a Peterborough street.

Both men were given the opportunity to pay a fixed penalty notice to discharge their liability for the offence, but failed to pay. As a consequence, the Safer Communities Service prosecuted both men for fly tipping.

⭐️ Up the North ⭐️

A great way to finish my Friday chatting to residents in North ward.

Lots of conversations about speeding traffic, parking and fly-tipping. Good to have this group out with me.

I was really pleased to see recognition for the casework of Cllr Noreen Bi who is a real community champion.

Selective outrage won’t wash.

Millfield has been one of our most deprived areas for years yet under the previous Conservative administration, residents were left asking: where did the “Millfield millions” go? It certainly didn’t reach the community. We’re the ones putting that right.

This funding comes via the CPCA Mayor’s Skills Committee so is he now criticising Paul Bristow for supporting investment into diverse communities? That’s on top of wider Labour Government funding—targeted by need, not politics.

And the claim Labour only backs central wards?
Over £40m has gone into Paston & Walton, Welland, Gunthorpe and the Ortons.

Let’s not forget the Conservative record:
• Hydrotherapy pool lost
• £4m public asset sold for £1
• £30k mislabelled under children’s services
• Millions wasted on poor property deals

And still silence after Stewart Jackson’s offensive remarks.

We’ll stay focused on delivering for all communities fairly, transparently, and based on need.

🕘 8pm to 6am
🚧 Lincoln Road (between Windmill Street and Searjeant Street) will be closed overnight in both directions to deliver elements of the Lincoln Road Public Realm Improvement project
