We'll be gathering at the Pavilion, where litter-picking equipment will be available to borrow before we head out around the village.
Once we've finished, return to the Pavilion to enjoy some light refreshments and a well-earned catch-up with fellow volunteers. ☕🍪

Whats on in Yaxley this week

The 3G pitch at the Rec will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12 - 1pm for a kickabout, open to all residents. Don't forget to bring your own ball ⚽️
A councillor will be onsite for supervision.

Looking for a fun and active way to keep your children entertained over the summer? Join us for our FREE sports sessions!
🕙 Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
We've got a range of sessions to be able to book: 26th August.
👧🧒 Ages: 5–11 years
📌 Pre-booking is essential.

The monthly councillor drop in at Yaxley Libriary will take place on Thursday 27th August 2-3:30pm. Anyone who has a question or query about Yaxley Parish Council can pop into the library and have a chat with one of our councillors.

It's the last free parish sports session on Wednesday, 26th August, and there are some spaces left. These multisport sessions, run by the Active Lifestyles team, are for 5-11-year-olds and are held on the Recreation Ground from 10am-12pm. If you would like to sign your child up, email [email protected] and provide the child's full name, your name, and a contact number.

We have been asked to remind residents that the area is still under a hosepipe ban.

Every litre really matters right now.

Our region is in drought, demand is still high and we’re using water faster than nature can replace it.

In some areas, the impact is even more serious. In Norfolk, the River Wensum, which helps supply Norwich and the surrounding area, is exceptionally low after months of dry weather.

But this is a region-wide challenge - and everyone can help.

Please only use water for the essentials, like cooking, cleaning and washing. Before turning on the tap, ask: “Do I really need this right now?”

Every litre saved helps protect rivers, wildlife and water supplies.

The Youth Group will be in Queens Park on Thursday 16th July. This is for those in school years 7-9, 4:30-6pm. A parent or guardian need to sign up the young person at their first session. Run by St Peter's Church this group is a fun place for young people to spend time together outside of school.

We have been asked to share this post.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my Uncle, Roger Lucas, beloved brother of my Dad and Uncle Robert, and devoted husband to Val Lucas.

For those who would like to join us in celebrating Roger’s life, the funeral service will be held at Peterborough Crematorium on Monday, 17th August at 11:00am.

After the service, everyone is warmly invited to join the family at The Bell Inn, Stilton, to continue sharing memories and celebrating Roger’s life.

This will be a celebration of life, so please feel free to wear whatever colours you wish.

The family kindly requests family flowers only. If you would like to make a donation in Roger’s memory, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s UK.

It is with great sadness that Yaxley Parish Council has learned of the passing of former Parish Councillor Roger Lucas.

Roger served the community as a Parish Councillor from 2003 to 2015, giving many years of dedicated service to Yaxley. We are grateful for the contribution he made to the Parish Council and to the village during his time in office.

On behalf of all at Yaxley Parish Council, we extend our sincere condolences to Roger's wife, Val, and to all of his family and friends.
