DISCOVER PETERBOROUGH: A NEW CHAPTER, THE SAME UNWAVERING BELIEF IN OUR CITY
Dear Peterborough,
Welcome to our new Discover Peterborough page! This isn't quite the fresh start we had imagined, but we are determined that recent events will not diminish our passion, our ambitions or our belief in this extraordinary city and its people.
As some of you may already know, our original page was recently taken from us, hijacked and redirected to another website. Sadly, they also deleted all the content we had lovingly created and shared. Countless stories, photographs, and celebrations of Peterborough's people, businesses, heritage, and hidden gems, enjoyed by an audience far beyond our city, were erased overnight.
After everything we have invested in Discover Peterborough, this has been heartbreaking, particularly during an already incredibly difficult time for our family. But whilst a page can be taken and its content deleted, the creativity, commitment and belief behind it cannot.
So, who are we, and what do we believe in?
Discover Peterborough is an independent, resident-first, placemaking Destination Management Organisation, created from a genuine love for our city and a determination to see it recognised, celebrated and valued.
Our philosophy is simple. We believe that successful tourism begins with the people who call a place home. When we nurture pride in our city, celebrate our communities and inspire residents to become its greatest champions, we create something far more authentic and powerful than any traditional tourism campaign could achieve.
For us, destination management isn't simply about attracting visitors. It's about creating a better place to live, supporting local businesses, celebrating our heritage and culture, strengthening communities and helping people rediscover the extraordinary things on their own doorstep.
Over the past year, we have worked tirelessly to build something meaningful for Peterborough, championing hundreds of local businesses and organisations, sharing overlooked stories and developing a thriving digital platform that is reaching audiences far beyond our city. The messages we've received from residents who feel more connected to, and proud of, Peterborough have made every hour worthwhile.
Thankfully, our website, www.discoverpeterborough.co.uk, continues to thrive and grow rapidly, and all the wonderful content from our original page remains available there.
Now we are rebuilding our social media community, creating new content and continuing to share the stories that make Peterborough so special. But we cannot do it without you.
And this is where we're asking for your help. ❤️

We would love to hear from residents, businesses, artists, community groups and organisations who want to be part of this journey. Discover Peterborough has never been about simply promoting a city to outsiders. It is about working together to create something that belongs to everyone who cares about Peterborough and its future.
Despite everything that has happened, our determination remains undiminished. Peterborough has always been a city of transformation and reinvention. From its remarkable history to the communities and industries that have shaped it over generations, our city has continually evolved, adapted and found new ways forward. It is a place built on resilience, ambition and the determination of ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things. We see our own experience as another small chapter in that much bigger story, and we intend to embrace the same spirit of perseverance and possibility as we rebuild.
Because we don't believe you create a great destination simply by telling the outside world how wonderful it is. You create one by helping the people who live there believe in it first. When that pride shines out from within, it becomes the most authentic and powerful invitation for others to discover what makes a place special. And the world cannot help but notice.
