⭐️ BUS SERVICE ALDRETH ⭐️

Thanks to a very persistent and deserving resident and the Parish Council - Aldreth will have an improved bus service 🚌

I have made the recommendation because of them. It now goes to Board. 🙏

My decision has absolutely nothing to do with the Lib Dems or the local Lib Dem councillor. I have never met him nor spoken to him. They make things up 🤷‍♂️ 😂

⭐️ PETERBOROUGH GROWTH BOARD ⭐️

The new Growth Board has met for the first time - bringing together my Mayoral Authority, Peterborough City Council and Homes England. 🤝

We are putting together a plan to deliver regeneration and growth for the City. 👍

My mission is simple - to transform the City Centre and get the economy moving. We will unlock development and attract investment, and establish a new Mayoral Development Corporation to bring land together and help accelerate regeneration. 💙

Investment, good jobs and new homes - this is what the city deserves. I want my daughters to be proud of this great City and everyone feel the benefits of growth. 🏠

⭐️ GOVERNMENT TRIES TO CANCEL A10 IMPROVEMENTS ⭐️

The Government have written to me to say they are taking off the table any potential DFT cash to dual the A10. This is despite my Mayoral Authority willing to make a substantial cash contribution 😔

The need for the A10 dualling between Ely and Cambridge is clear. The A10 is increasingly congested and people travelling to work, school and hospital are losing too much time in queues 🚙

This decision puts a solution further away. 😢

This is a region already generating high-value jobs, investment and innovation, with major growth coming. Our Local Growth Plan sets out how we can grow the regional economy substantially, and these roads are part of the infrastructure needed to make that possible. 📈

The Government want us to grow but then don’t give money for the infrastructure we need. They say one thing then do another. This is a Government that doesn’t prioritise the East of England. 🤷‍♂️

TBF - I always expected this to be the case I am not giving up. We will look at alternative capital sources. Actions speak louder than words. 💪

⭐️ GROWERS FORUM ⭐️

Met with regional leaders in farm and food to discuss agri-tech today near 🤝

Farming and food is such an important part of our regional economy. We have best farming land in the country in the Fens 🚜

We need to approve agricultural reservoirs more quickly - we need to embrace innovation - we need inspire young people about a career in agriculture 👨‍🌾

I am Fen Boy. Innovation is way we will tackle food security, preserve the Fens and drive economic growth 📈

⭐️ CHILDRENS SAFETY IN DOGSTHORPE ⭐️

I met campaigners who are pushing for Peterborough City Council to prioritise childrens safety on Central Avenue in Dogsthorpe after several scary incidents 😔

Dogsthorpe is represented by a councillor who is the Cabinet Member for Childrens and Young People - but it doesn’t seem children and young people are prioritised here 😢

The Council have prioritised other areas and ran out of money. For the 2026/2027 Highways and Transport Capital Programme have received £8,936,000, which is funded in full via grant allocations I have passported as Mayor. This is every penny the Government have allocated 🤝

I don’t understand why this cash cannot be spent here. I am going to convene a meeting between the Council, campaigners, schools and the police to get this part of Dogsthorpe on the Council’s priority list 💙
