When it comes to neighbourhood policing and addressing concerns, we want to hear from members of our community of all ages. 👮

As part of their work to do this, our PCSOs have started to attend the Youth Employment Hub held by Peterborough United Foundation to talk to those there about a range of issues such as anti-social behaviour and drug use or dealing.

The Hub gives young people the support they need to find work, training, and education, but also offers advice on housing, finances, and mental health support.

If you are aged 16-24 and have a concern you wish to raise to our PCSOs, then be sure to keep an eye out on here for future dates.

Over the past couple of days, we have had several motorbike thefts reported to us from across the city.

Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a vehicle! ⏱️

Help protect your motorbike by remembering: Lock, Chain, Cover

🔐Lock 🔐
There are numerous different locks that you can use to help protect your motorbike:
-Disc locks help secure the front brake disc
-Grip locks secure the brake and throttle controls
-D locks on the front wheel can stop it from being pushed away
Don’t just rely on your steering lock - using numerous locks helps delay the thief as it gives them more barriers to get through.

⛓️Chain ⛓️
Add a layer of protection by using a chain lock through the back wheel.
Make sure the lock is taut to an immovable object such as street furniture, or if this is not possible, then you can thread the chain through your bike frame and wheel.

🏍️Cover 🏍️
Using a cover makes your vehicle less attractive to thieves as it is another obstacle for them to overcome and doesn’t show what model of motorbike it is.

By following these steps, you can help make it harder for these opportunistic individuals.

Is anyone missing their Lamborghini? 🤔

Traffic officers tried to stop the car along Mayors Walk in West Town on Sunday night due to it being driven in an anti-social manner.

However, the driver didn’t fancy stopping for a chat and made off! 😯

A couple of hours later, officers seized the car after they came across it abandoned in Westwood.

Look at these dramatic photos from two collisions that our response officers attended over the weekend!

🚗We were called on Saturday evening with reports of a collision between two vehicles along Davids Lane in Werrington. No arrests were made and the children in one of the cars reported minor injuries.
🚗In the early hours of Monday morning, we were called with reports that a car had crashed into a wall in Star Road, Eastgate. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.

As we head into the darker nights and the rain makes a comeback, it is important to stay safe and drive to the conditions of the road. 🌧️

We know people like to start stocking up for Christmas, but this is a tad extreme 😉🎄

Our Rural Crime Action Team were carrying out an operation along the A16 between Peterborough, Crowland, and Spalding, on Friday when this vehicle caught their eye as it was looking a little low.

When they opened it up, they found more than £5,000 worth of suspected stolen goods, including:
🫒58 bottles of olive oil
🐟14 tins of tuna
🍫399 packs of chocolates
☕Large amount of coffee
🧀Lots of cheese and chorizo
🫧Cleaning products

A 39-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.

This is just one example of work carried out by the team as they were joined by Lincolnshire Police Rural Crime Action Team, Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, HMRC, Immigration, and Datatag ID Limited on an ‘Operation Chambers’

During the operation that is dedicated to disrupting criminality and keeping our roads safe:
✅Vehicles checks were carried out
✅Officers dealt with uninsured drivers
✅A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after he failed a roadside drugs wipe
✅The DVSA issued several prohibitions, including for an overloaded vehicle.

A man has been jailed for a stabbing outside a kebab shop in the city centre after another customer rang the bell on his e-scooter.

Kris Stimson, 44, was at the takeaway in Fitzwilliam Street at about 2.30am on 20 June last year when he became enraged after hearing the bell being used.

Can you help? We're appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between two motorbikes in Peterborough yesterday.

A Blue Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle was being ridden in Stanham Way, near Cardea, at about 5.20pm yesterday (31 August), when the rider was involved in a head-on collision with a black BMW S1000 motorbike.

The rider of the Yahama motorbike - a 19-year-old man from Peterborough - suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. The rider of the BMW motorbike - a 32-year-old man from London - suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Both men were taken to Peterborough City Hospital, where they remain this morning (1 September).

We are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A605 at Cardea involving two motorbikes.

Two men have suffered serious injuries as a result. The road is currently closed, and will likely be so for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Emergency services are at the scene and an investigation has been launched.
