25 discreet cameras ready for one of our commercial customers 📹

Another great CCTV project getting underway.

We’ll be installing 25 discreet Hikvision cameras, giving our customer comprehensive coverage across their premises while keeping the installation as neat and unobtrusive as possible.

Combined with perimeter protection, the system has been designed to detect potential threats early and provide excellent coverage of the site — helping keep the premises protected both during and outside normal working hours.

Earlier this week we had a great visit to Hikvision’s UK HQ 👌

We’ve installed thousands of their cameras across a wide range of our projects over the years, so it was great to spend some time with the Hikvision team discussing a few of our upcoming projects and getting hands-on with some of their latest CCTV and security technology.

There’s some seriously impressive kit available now, as well as plenty of exciting technology coming through that could completely change how we approach certain projects over the next few years.

For us, it’s important to keep learning, stay close to the manufacturers we work with and make sure we’re offering our customers the best solutions available.

☀️ Extreme Heat & Fire Safety – A Reminder From Our Fire Risk Assessment Team 🔥

With temperatures rising, it’s worth remembering that extreme heat can increase fire risks around commercial premises.

🥵 And while we’re on the subject of heat — don’t forget the human side too: sunburn, dehydration and heat exhaustion can creep up quickly when you’re out on site!

Our Fire Risk Assessment team recommends taking a few simple precautions during periods of hot weather:

🔥 Keep combustible materials away from windows, hot surfaces and other heat sources.
🔋 Take extra care when charging and storing lithium-ion batteries — never use damaged, swollen or overheating batteries.
⚡ Avoid overloading extension leads and electrical sockets, particularly with fans and portable cooling equipment.
🗑️ Keep external waste, cardboard and combustible materials away from buildings wherever possible.
🚪 Make sure fire exits and escape routes remain completely clear — especially when doors and outside areas are being used more frequently.
🌳 Keep vegetation, dry grass and other combustible materials under control around buildings, smoking areas and external equipment.
🍺 For pubs, restaurants and hospitality venues, take particular care with BBQs, outdoor cooking equipment and LPG during hot weather.
💧 Stay hydrated, take breaks, and don’t forget sunscreen when carrying out external checks — sunburn is no joke!
🔍 Include additional fire-safety checks as part of your opening and closing procedures during prolonged periods of extreme heat.

And most importantly, make sure your fire alarm, emergency lighting and firefighting equipment are properly maintained and ready when needed.

A few additional checks during extreme weather can make a big difference.
