We had a strange look from the gardeners last week as we were walking backwards up the path on the brightest of days just to catch the point where the chimneys were part caught against the sharp white cloud and part against the blue sky.

A vain attempt at being artistic but perhaps being immersed in our art collection is finally having an effect?

No AI but just from a time when striped lawns were rather more easy to come by than they seem to be now. An autumn/winter and spring maintenance programme is definitely on the schedule.

A foray into the basement today in search of some archive documents also turned up an interesting box of old black and white postcards, long forgotten. Rather dusty and some a little water damaged by a former minor disaster in the basement but ready to be sorted and properly rehomed.

It would be so interesting to hear if any deltiologists (yes, we did have to look it up!) have visited in the past and added these to their collection.

We have our very own version. Former bedposts, re-imagined as candle holders and rather too tall to light anyone to bed. They have now found a home in the Chapel rather than a bedroom.
