Today marks Officer Steve Field's last day at Petersfield Town Council. After many years of dedicated service to the people of Petersfield, he can now enjoy a well-earned retirement.

As a former Town Mayor and Town Councillor, I've seen first-hand the hard work, dedication and commitment Steve has given to our town over the years. It was therefore an honour to say goodbye to him this morning (thank you, Kathryn!), although I know he'll continue supporting the wonderful community of Petersfield for many years to come as a volunteer.

For now though, here's to you, Stevie! Thank you for everything you've done for Petersfield. Wishing you a long, happy and thoroughly well-deserved retirement.

⚖️Carol has volunteered as a magistrate for over 20 years, continuing to serve her community after losing most of her sight in 2012.

Very warm congratulations to Cllr Jamie Matthews on his re-election as Town Mayor of Petersfield, and to Cllr Anne Stephenson on her election as Deputy Town Mayor.

I have no doubt that both will serve the people of Petersfield with great dignity, dedication and distinction in their respective roles.

A special thank you also to former Town Mayor Cllr Chris Paige for his outstanding service and commitment to the town over the past year.

Today my fellow trustees and I walked about the estate and observed some of the great work that’s been done and that will be done in the future. The beauty of parts of the estate, such as Persuasion Row, is simple breathtaking and there is little wonder that they have been immortalised in literature. We are truly fortunate to have such a beautiful place.
