Petersfield Heath Amenity Area Public Consultation results

Thank you to everyone that took the time to submit feedback on our public consultation regarding the Heath Amenity Area. The results of the consultation have been posted on our website, you can read the full report here: https://www.petersfield-tc.gov.uk/the-heath/petersfield-heath-amenity-area-restoration-public-consultation/

Overall, feedback was generally supportive of the project plan with some great suggestions and items that need further consideration. The next phase of the project will focus on refining the design to reflect the feedback received and ensuring that improvements deliver long-term environmental and accessibility benefits. Feedback has confirmed the need for the project to include the use of natural and permeable path materials and utilise native, wildlife-friendly and climate resilient plant species. The consultation has highlighted that greater attention needs to paid to site furniture and how the area functions with the new planned layout. Feedback concerning play equipment has been passed on to Officers involved in the play area renovation project.

The project team will prepare a detailed design and specification for the proposed works. Before works commence, any necessary ecological, and technical assessments will be completed to ensure the proposals protect biodiversity, are appropriate for the site's heathland setting and can be delivered sustainably and effectively. The refined scheme will be costed and funding arrangements finalised. We will explore various funding streams including the Community Infrastructure Levy and the National Lottery. A final project proposal, incorporating consultation findings and detailed costings, will be presented to the relevant Council committee for approval prior to implementation.

Petersfield Town Council ran a public consultation on a project proposal to improve the amenity area of Petersfield Heath. This includes the area around the Plump Duck cafΓ© and the playground. This public consultation aimed to better understand the needs and concerns of those using this area and al...

RE: Planned Maintenance - EH927 - Borough Road, Petersfield - Carriageway Resurfacing

Following the recent resurfacing works on Borough Road, we need to return to carry out strengthening works to a small number of utility covers in order to complete the scheme.

These works are currently programmed for Tuesday 1st September, between 09:30 and 16:00hrs. During this time, Borough Road will be closed between The Spain and Alderfield. We anticipate that the works will take only a few hours, and the road will be reopened as soon as the works have been completed.
