This tree has been a popular landmark for a number of years, giving passers by an all year round festive feel with its tinsel and baubles in a rather bleak moorland setting! However, it has recently been the victim of a senseless act of sabotage having been chopped at its base then deliberately pushed over!! Well we the good people of Whitby will not stand for such acts of vandalism and as of toda

y 14/11/11 I am happy to report that the Christmas Tree stands tall and proud once more!! It may be battered and bandaged but this plucky little tree now lives on!!
