🏛️ Year 4 Roman Day 🏛️

The children had a brilliant time today taking part in their Roman Day! They got stuck into lots of activities, including an archaeological dig, Roman storytelling, gladiator training and decorating their own Roman pots. A great day of active learning and lots of fun! ⚔️🎨

🚂🏚️ Year 2’s Victorian Adventure at Morwellham Quay! 🏚️🚂

What an incredible day Year 2 have had exploring life in Victorian times at Morwellham Quay! 🖤

The children stepped back in time as they dressed up in Victorian clothing, took an exciting ride on the mine train and experienced what life was like in a traditional Victorian classroom! 🕰️⛏️

We are SO proud of how amazing the children have been today. They showed fantastic enthusiasm, curiosity and impeccable behaviour throughout the trip, representing our school brilliantly from start to finish. ⭐

We also loved hearing their thoughts about the day!

💬 Reggie: “This was the best trip I have ever been on!”

💬 Lillie: “I got to dress up as a Victorian in a long dress.”

💬 George: “The mine train was my favourite part.”

💬 Arabella: “I loved the lesson, I am so glad school is more friendly now!”

It’s safe to say we’ve made some wonderful memories and learnt so much about what life was like for Victorian children. We think they’re all very grateful to be back in a modern classroom! 📚

🌟 Year 5’s Fantastic Trip to The Box! 🌟

Year 5 had a brilliant day at The Box, discovering fascinating facts about the Benin Kingdom and sharing all the knowledge they have gained throughout this term! 🏺

The children had the opportunity to explore artefacts from the Benin Kingdom, discuss what they could learn from them and ask some fantastic questions. They also enjoyed exploring the different galleries, discovering more about Plymouth and its rich history. 📚

We are incredibly proud of how the children represented Marine Academy Primary. The staff at The Box were so impressed with their knowledge, enthusiasm and behaviour that they told us they were the best group of children they had ever had! What an amazing compliment! 👏🌟

Here are some of the children’s highlights from the day:

💬 Maison P: “I loved seeing the Mammoth, she was so fluffy!”

💬 Joyce: “I liked learning about lots of different types of birds.”

💬 Lyla: “I liked it she told us all about the bronzes.”

💬 Poppi-Mai: “I like learning more about the Benin Kingdom and looking at artefacts.”

💬 Mason T: “I loved exploring all the different rooms.”

💬 Alba: “I enjoyed looking at the message in the bottle as it linked to Kensuke’s Kingdom.”

💬 Declan: “I loved seeing the Woolly Mammoth.”

📚🌍 Goes International! 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦

Recently Miss Stephens travelled to Poland with the British Council to take part in a Reading for Pleasure conference and a UK–Ukraine partnership workshop. ✈️📖

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about international school partnerships, share ideas and explore new ways to inspire a love of reading in our classrooms. 💙

Last week, we took our first exciting step in our partnership with Saran Lyceum through our very first Zoom call! 💻✨ Our Pre-School children loved listening to a story shared by our new friends before sharing our own current topic book. 📚❤️

We are so excited to see where this partnership takes us and look forward to more opportunities to share stories, learn from one another and build connections across countries! 🌎🌟

🎨🏡 Year 2 Art Exhibition! 🏡🎨

A huge thank you to all the families who came along today to celebrate our incredible Year 2 artists! 🌟

The children have worked so hard creating their very own Victorian clay houses alongside their beautiful art books, showcasing the fantastic skills and techniques they’ve learnt throughout our art lessons.

We are so proud of their creativity, imagination and the effort they’ve put into their work. It was wonderful to share their achievements with you all! 🖌️✨

🏛️ Tomorrow, Year 4 are stepping back in time to Ancient Rome!

The children will be taking part in a range of exciting Roman themed activities to complement and bring to life their History learning this term. ⚔️🛡️

A little reminder that children are welcome to come dressed in their Roman outfits or wear their own clothes to dress as a Roman citizen for the day.

We can’t wait for a fantastic day of Roman fun and learning! 🏺✨

Children are invited to bring money in a named envelope and there will be opportunities to purchase items during Early Morning Learning or within the school day. Stock is limited and often sells out quickly.
